A wonderful, clean, and cheery place to stay! They were great with helping us book accommodation! A beautiful location next to the beach with a GORGEOUS view. Definitely worth a night or two. Our room was great and the staff were fantastic.

We stayed a night at the beach house and had a good time!
Compared to the other places around (Knysna, Plettenberg, etc) we thought Wilderness was definitely the best place to stop, the beach is absolutely gorgeous (not for swim though, the currents are strong and there are absolutely huge jellyfishes!).
The beach house offers a fantastic view over the beach, they have a good bar (very old pool table though) and they cook pizzas on some evenings.
We took a room which was ok, the dorms looked good (amazing views too). The staff is nice, very chilled out and with young spirits.
For an evening and a night to stop on the way, I do recommend this place.

We stayed in wi
Wilderness for 3 days and was able to move to the beach house on the last day. All we can say is this is one of the best backpackers we have stayed at in south africa. Anne is very nice and helpful along with a great staff. You feel like you are staying at your rich friends house on the beach! Of course this is still a backpackers so with that good value your rich friends house may not have a spatula in the communal kitchen, but we found the rooms and bathrooms to be above average for any backpacker we used in the last 30 days. Book ahead for this wonderful place.

We chose this hostel as it had very good reviews. We booked a double on suite and had a room known as one of the bungalows. It had a great view and was generally clean and tidy. The room though did have a very bad damp problem to the point where all 4 bed pillows were badly damp and black with mould. We complained and asked for replacements but were given 4 more damp pillows from the room next door. Rather than complain again we wrapped 2 pillows In clean bath towel so our heads didn't come in contact. With this aside we would recommend but ask for a room in the main building as its new and much cleaner. The location is great, right on the beach and walking distance (about 15 mins) to the shops. They have a good bar, pool table and kitchen to cook your own food.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new main building, not in the bungalows.

Im not sure if it was because we stayed in one of the en-suites that was outside the main building but our room was pretty damp and the pillows had mould seeping through onto the pillowcases. We asked them to change them for some other pillows and in fairness the young guy who was helping manage the place apologised and changed them immediately. But unfortunately they were just as bad. We didnt mention again as it wasnt the guys fault and i dont think it would have got any better. For the price we expected a lot more, basic hygiene doesnt cost anything and for the price of their en-suites, it doesnt cost too much to replace the bedding from time to time. On the plus side the staff were very friendly, the bar and pool area were very clean and modern, and had a great vibe about the place. The kitchen was also clean and handy if you wanted to cook your own food. We enjoyed our stay but expected more for the money. It was probably one of the more expensive hostels we stayed in in all of our trip but we didnt sleep well at all, with damp and mould in the bed.

Room Tip: maybe ask for a room in the main house? Cleaner/newer bedding..?

This is by far the best backpackers I have ever stayed in!! Annie is the most friendliest person you can come accross and makes you feel at home imeadiatly. The view is spectacular and the pizzas they make is very yummy! It is also very clean and the cooking facillities is great. The cosy little bar is also the meeting place of all the locals . I love coming back and back again to this beautiful friendly place with the wonderful ambiance. You will not make a bad decision going there.
