I traveled to Wilderness, SA, on business, and was very privileged to stay at excellent venues.
    Serendipity stood out.
Not only is it situated in the most exquisite location, the B&B is beautifully decorated with stylish elegance and soft lighting. I was welcomed by very friendly staff and the owners Phillip and Elsabe, who showed me to my room.
To start off with... the linen was such a luxurious surprise...not only crisp clean white linen, but the quality is out of this world! One door that opens into the rest of the B&B and restaurant and another glass door that opens to the balcony with breathtaking views of the lagoon.
The detail in the rooms speaks of people that have good taste and knows what a traveler wants and needs. Most Venues have a hair dryer, but it is always a small little thing that gets your hair all tangled (I have long hair). Serendipity has good quality hair dryers. What a difference that makes to a girl like me.
You are provided with both swim towels and 4 bath towel, and 2 hand towels (I always find that there is never enough towels in hotels). Also you are provided with bath gowns and slippers.
And probably the best surprise of all, is that each room have a plunger with grounded Illy coffee, and bottled water with the compliments of the owners!
    I felt spoiled and rested!
And all this with one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been too!
Thank you Serendipity for a stay that I will always fondly remember.

The restaurant at Serendipity is certainly 5 star, the guesthouse is not. The location is great, the house is nice, however the rooms are not close to any other 5 star accommodation we stayed at during our time in SA. The bathrooms are old, you have to stand in an old bath to take a shower, and my knees hit against the bath when using the toilet. The owner is somewhat haughty and aloof, while the couple who run the restaurant are super cool. Quite simply this is not a 5 star guesthouse, I would suggest you only go there for the food.

. If you are going to Wilderness on the Garden Route do not miss Serendipity and if you had no intention to go to the Garden Route, go there anyway and visit this wonderful guest house. Serendipity, what an extraordinary place!
The big house, with 4 beautiful guest rooms, an elegant but cozy drawing room with PC, is situated right on the bank of the Wilderness lagoon. Outside the 4 rooms there is an enormous balcony with tables and chairs and a beautiful view on the lagoon and the birds living there. Not to talk about the sunset! In the garden, just down the steps from the balcony you will find canoes at the disposal of the guests. The car can be placed in the garage under the house, so it is nice and cool when you get into it. Breakfast, which is served on the ground floor with views onto the garden and the lagoon, has all that the heart may desire and served beautifully by Elsebe the owner, a lady in the real sense of the word. Phillip, her husband, reigns in the lovely office next to the drawing room. Last but not least the Gourmet Restaurant and the Chef, much awarded Lizelle. We had the most fantastic meals, presented in a very artistic way and with superb service. The wine list is absolutely first class. Remember to book a table!
The beach is not far away and Wilderness itself is sooo relaxing. Do not miss Serendipity and Wilderness.

One can only have appreciation for the level of dedication and care that is invested in every little detail of this restaurant and guesthouse. For us every visit to Serendipity is a celebration of life.

The service is unbelievable. It is friendly and warm.

The food in the downstairs restaurant is superb! A lot of personal attention is given to the selection, the preparation and the presentation of the food.

    Pura Vida!

Wilderness is one of the nicest places we have stayed, and Serendipity is one of the reasons. Wonderful accomodations, kind host, and great location. Downstairs there is a top notch restaurant run by the owner's daughter. We would come back in a snap.
