An average resort set in magnificent area. This area of the Drakensburg is probably the most beautiful. The resort restaurant needs a bit of a new look. It felt old. But the food was outstanding. New waitress needed a bit of training though.
Beds were comfy and clean.
The peacock is a pain !! And kept me awake most of the night.
Reception was really good and the activities on offer seemed good (though we didn't try any)

We stayed at Mountain View self-catering cottages at this resort and had a lovely stay. The cottage was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and cosy with heaters instead of a fireplace. Take-aways could be ordered from the hotel or one could eat at one of the restaurants in the hotel. The meals were average for hotel food but we prefer to take our own food anyway so did'nt worry about eating out much.

There is a lovely golf course, hikes, horse-riding etc.. Also very convenient 1 hours drive to the start of the Sani Pass - we took a day trip up Sani Pass in a 4x4 with a local tour operator in Underberg and had lunch at the highest pub in Africa on top of Sani Pass. What a view!! well worth it. The Himeville Hotel also close to Underberg, offer a fantastic farmhouse breakfast and great pub lunches.

Room Tip: Our cottage was close to the carpark which was'nt a problem as it was off peak season and not at all busy.

A bit of a drive this "resort"...
Looks very nice at first sight.
Rooms at Riverside-block are called superior, but they are just avarage.
A bit of game in the bathroom(fungus) completed it all.
