Description: Since 2002 hundreds of coffee devotees have trooped through the Lemon Tree doors every day to enjoy the amazing cappuccino. For the second time in three years a survey of around 350 restaurants in KwaZulu-Natal rated LEMON TREE’s cappuccino one of the province’s 20 BEST. This accolade was achieved in the definitive 2010/11 and 2012/13 Sunday Tribune Cafe Society Awards. The international hospitality monitor, TripAdvisor recognised Lemon Tree Bistro with its 2013 Certificate of Excellence. This prestigious award places the restaurant in the top-performing 10% of all businesses worldwide on TripAdvisor, and indicates businesses that consistently earn high ratings from TripAdvisor travellers. The hospitality and catering team, guided by owners Huck and Elsabe Orban, has taken what was essentially a coffee shop with a Continental slant to the level where it is one of the best recognised country restaurants in South Africa. Not only is it listed on several international country travel guides as a "Must Visit!" - amongst which the popular Lonely Planet - but it also serves as destination for both foodies and coffee aficionados. Its easy-dining, bistro menu to which special features like Venison Pie, de-boned Rainbow Trout, the incomparable Kudu Fillet and the famous pistachio-crusted Lamb Cutlets have been added, ensures that everyone's taste from essential to eclectic, is catered for. Besides the crisp croissants, baked on the premises every day, the Lemon Tree will serve you the most memorable Prawn Pasta, Prego Roll and hand crafted Toasted Sandwich you have ever had. Finish that off with the oh-so-moreish Beetroot Cake and a cappuccino and you'll be back for more.... time and again. When you walk through the door you enter the Lemon Tree's wonderful world of goodies... an interesting selection of books - both old and new, a range of branded and house coffees, brewing and cookery requisites and a deli filled with a delightful range of wines, imported biscuits, chocolates, jams and condiments. See you there...

The food, service and quality were very good, as was the variety on the menu from breakfast to lunch, then afternoon tea and cake and an A La Carte dinner service in the evening, look forward to the next visit soon

The food is excellent. I had a hunters potpie. It was quite big and you get to choose whether you want a mash or pastry topping. My wife had trout and was also very good. Don't hesitate to order the dry red house wine. The sevice is professional and the peolple friendly. I'll go back to The Lemon Tree before I'll try any other restaurant in underberg.

Stop here when entering Underberg and enjoy your first cuppacino and a slice of delectable cake baked at Lemon Tree. Great hearty winter fare especially the newly launched fresh chunky vegetable soup with bread of your choice. Mahala meals excellent value for money. Huck's photographs are a must see at the back of shop, where you will find so much more than you expected. And for folks that have a bitter taste in the mouths because this little Underberg Gem is doing so well, Get A Life. Lemon Tree and Staff, you keep doing well.

We did both and enjoyed a very nice evening meal. Portions are on the large size so leave room!
The choice on the menu was good as was the wine list. Prices were very reasonable. Would happily go again

For many years we have been holidaying in underberg and The Lemon Tree is a little Gem. We have had many great tasty goumet meals there and the service is excellent, the staff and owners professional and friendly and will go out of their way to make your experience a great one. Just browsing the comments and I am bowled over by the vindictive commment made by D Heunis. This kind of message can be so damaging to a business. The Lemon tree has been a "part of our family" for years even my little boy just loves it there, you are always made to feel welcome and at home and it is great value for money with the BEST capaccinos and milkshakes and yummy food breakfast lunch or supper all great. Keep on going Lemon Tree what would Underberg be without you?
