We ate here on the recommendation of a local taxi-driver during a stay at Imvubu Lodge. The restaurant is on the waterfront with an open deck. It was very busy on the evening we dined there. The place had a great atmosphere and we had a good table at its heart.
The food we had was great; tasty, piping hot and plenty of it - good pub grub.
However the service was a bit of disaster. We were at any one time being served by at least four people, including what appeared to be the owner. This resulted in our order getting confused and us eating separately some 30 minutes apart. There was no offer to re-cook both meals so that we could eat together and the ‘compensation’ for the error was a single drink; a bottle of ‘Castle’ for my wife. The disparate service also meant that we endured ‘is everything okay’ questioning from our four servers during the course of the meal; we counted over a dozen times, which made the wait for the second meal feel much longer.
I’m sure we were unlucky and that a subsequent visit would have gone swimmingly and that the food would have been as good.
