“Suoer Relaxed Stay”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We had a super experience in this well located lodge. The staff were extremely helpful, the food outstanding and we were lucky enough to get close to the wild animals and took some great shots. The accommodation was great and nicely decorated. We certainly will return.

Emdoneni lodge was a beautiful place to stay. It was very scenic. The cabins were simple but when you spend the day out on safari with the animals and nature that seems appropriate. There are several outdoor seating areas and a firepit for evening campfire. They also keep several wild rescue cats including 2 cheetahs. You can pay (I think it was $20 a person - or something like that) and have a tour of the cats, walk in the cages and even pet the cheetahs (who pur when you pet them).

When we walked to the back of the lodge past the restaurant, zebra's and impalas and monkeys had wandered onto the property.

I would definitely recommend this lodge.

Room Tip: I did hear someone else say that their shower was outside of their room. In July that would have be...

It is great to also read that you will recommend the lodge to your friends or family. Thank you very much by doing so.

My son Cameron and I had the most amazing experience at your lodge. It was a mother and son week-end for us and we relished the time we spent there. We spent two night and was welcomed wondefully by your amazing and friendly staff. They catered to our every need and went beyond their call of duty to ensure that we, especially Cameron, have a fantastic time. The Cat Rehabilitation Center was truly a wonderful experience and being animal lovers, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of watching the free roaming zebras and impalas, etc.
This was Africa at is best, even though being true South Africans, we had an exceptional African Experience at Emdoneni.
The rooms were of exceptional quality and the service from the fresh towels to the mints on the pillow at bedtime were welcomed.
I enjoyed my time alone in the open lounge, reading and relaxing, while Cameron was off on the many tours catered for kids. Its very rare to find a resort that takes such amazing care of kids and ensures that they are well taken catered for from night drives, to bush lunch picnics to star gazing to spot the poop :)
Cameron and I look forward too our next trip to the lodge. It will be our frequent retreat from city life.
Thank you to you and your fabulous staff for making our stay a truly superb experience.

We had the privilege of staying at your lodge over the weekend and I have to compliment you on your staff and great service we received from everyone. I work in the industry where service sets us apart from all our competitors thus service to me is extremely important. Both me and the husband have done quite a bit of traveling (oversea and local) and your establishment has by far exceeded our expectations in quality and service. Your staff and the friendly manner they treat there guest sets your lodge far ahead of other lodges and resorts. While we where having dinner there Saturday I asked my husband "What could you suggest to improve on for this lodge" and the answer was nothing, the food is great, the services is wonderful, the place, setting and decor is beautiful there is nothing I can suggest to improve on.

Please relay my message over to your staff on a job well done, and with employees like that I see a long bright future ahead for your lodge / business.

Emdoneni Lodge, 2 nights. What a fabolous place. Catered for our 3 and 5 year old children and their grandparents too. The lodge has free roaming Zebras, buck and a superb viewing deck by the pool. The memories of the Cheetah interaction left long lasting impressions! A busy day for the whole family with the wild cats and nearby Hluhluwe reserve. at night accomodated by the resident babysitter we also managed to enjoy a relaxing adult dinner at night by the fire and fine food. And it is right of the N2

Room Tip: The Rondavels are perfect for families with kids. 2 bedrooms with a interleading door

Wow – what a stay! For animal lovers or people wanting meet some of Africa’s most beautiful creatures up close this is an exceptional experience. The encounters with the cats is without doubt one of the most incredible things I’ve done. The lounge and bar area are beautiful and comfy, with a roaring fire to take away the winter chill, all the staff are friendly and helpful and we immediately felt relaxed. The food was great with a really good variety and plenty of it. We will definitely be going back again!!!
