Food is above average, but not the start attraction. As Durban's only revolving restaurant, it is something all should experience. the harbour and city really look beautiful at night.

Waiters are a bit tired and old.

A wonderful atmosphere. It turns very slowly and one has a beautiful view of the harbour and yacht mall. The food selection is excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

I wouldn't have dinner there again, there are much better spots near by.
But they have upgraded & the roof top bar is a must visit for a view and a cocktail. It's novelty wears off rather quickly.

I do need to find fault ! No place can be this good! Its just not natural!
The occasion - our 41st Anniversary a treat by the kids so the pressure to find somewhere special was on.
We checked out reviews on Tripadvisor and ended up with a shortlist of three Durban restaurants.
The location, and the menu of Roma was enticing and the fact that it was high above the maddening crowd did help.
I phoned for a reservation and it started.. the service I mean.
The lady that took the call was most helpful and advised about safe parking etc - without me asking, mind you!
On arrival we were promptly seated stylishly welcomed by the Maitre 'd.
A waitron, well dressed and respectfully courteous yet friendly without any stiffness was there almost immediately.
The five minutes we took to decide on a champagne saw him come by no less than three times to check and advise. Oh, what impressed me immensely was a little thing that generally is most irritating in any restaurant, wines out of stock were marked as such on the wine list!
The wine when served was properly chilled and the sommelier knew how to open and handle a champagne bottle as well as pour with panache.
The food, ahh the food, well it was merely excellent not wonderful. From the hors d'ouvre to the mains all was excellent! I had a meat dish and the wife duck 'l orange. Suffice it to say it was a quiet dinner. We savoured the well prepared and succulent dishes and crispy veggies - talking would simply be superfluous. The most romantic view of Durban from high up whilst the restaurant slowly revolved so the view kept changing, did its bit to make a good evening into a great one.
Then the piece de resistance... We ordered crepes suzette for dessert.
You know how the Italians express approval by kissing the tips of their fingers with a loud smack? Wish I could do it here!
The crepes were prepared at our table, as they should! By a gentleman dressed to a 'T'. With flair he went through the motions, By the time he got to the flambé my mouth was watering and wanted to clap to applaud his deftness and skill.
Done he served the dessert, after meticulously folding the crepes - and I mean lining up the corners! No sloppiness here! Covering it in the jus... Maestro!!
It was butter soft and literally melted in your mouth. A perfect finish to an excellent meal and a memorable evening.

After a smooth ride in a lift we arrived and were warmly greeted. We were slightly early so there was an opportunity for pre-meal drinks if wanted and panoramic views by moonlight. The food at dinner was delicious especially the mushroom starter likewise the seafood pasta was full of seafood. The choice of deserts was wonderful and we all availed ourselves of the opportunity to pick two! While we sit at table, the restaurant slowly revolves around so that we can appreciate not only the panoramic views of Durban, but also the décor of the restaurant. A great place to finish off a day of celebration.
