I stay at this hotel more often than any other. Its the staff, the view that I never get tired of , the cosy yet spacious rooms, the ultra modern design of the buillding that I love most about this hotel. I have spent over 200 nights over the past 25 years here and will continue to do so. It holds special memories for me. Its my retreat, my home away from home.

The Marine Parade is directly at the costline of Durban. Roome got a brillinat seaside view and the sunrise is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the hotel is a little bit old and not very well mantained. The rooms could get some new funriture and the carpets should be reniewed.
The breakfirst was very good, but the breakfirst room was very crowded and busy. The area around gives you a direct beach acces (just across the street), but ist not the "safest" area of Durban.

Arriving at the hotel was a bit of a task, there are more than one hotel with the same name on the same street, and yes i checked carefully before writing this, to make sure it was the right Garden Court...

It is a bit like being a cast member of the twilight zone, the whole area looks like Miami Beach in 1972, looked hard to find africa, and had to give up.

Location is good, rooms are like an airport holiday inn in Bismark North Dakot (dont know if there is one there, but if there was it would have rooms like this) Standard two queen size beds, an uncomfortable chair, writing desk, vanity set and that is about it. Had it not been for an obviously hardworking housekeeper, i would be afraid to walk on the carpet with out shoes, it looks really old, but was clean.

Seems to be a cash cow for who ever owns it, because there is no attempt ofupdating and improving the property.

Only thing going for it is the location and the view....WOW, everything else very much on the soft side.

Great for a 1 night stay, but for me a longer stay require a little more details....or at least reduce the rates, a bit on the high side for what is on offer

hotel is very tired and needs an overhaul, despite that evrything functioned. great views from the bedrooms directly out over the ocean. i didnlt like being in such a huge high rise hotel, but was there for a conference so luckily was out most of the time. The McRib restaurant is poor, food was bland.

The only really good thing about this hotel is the location. i stayed here for 6 nights whilst at a trade show and thankfully I was out most of the time. The rooms are old fashioned and grim and the housekeeping and room service staff were rude and unhelpful. The bar is tiny and the female staff seem more interested in serving the men at the bar than any woman!!! Breakfast however was pretty good with a variety of items and friendly staff.
