Having dined at Moyo a few times before I am always excited about dining there again. It is a fabulous venue with unique interior decorating that is still eye catching even though I have seen it before. The wonderful mix of African art, recycle art, mosaic and colours do Africa proud. The toilets (unisex at that) are an absolute must see even if you dont need to use them. The service and food is average. Usually an employee will soon be at your table to do african art "dots" on your face, getting you into the vibe. This lady appeared after we had paid the bill. The food was nothing special to write about, some spices and good flavour but not that special. The wine? Well - ask for the wine list and you may be surprised with the return "would you like red or white?" followed by the grape and then a bottle just appears. No perusing of menus encouraged.

Although Moyo has some great views of the sea and beachfront (located at the end of the pier), the staff were very lazy and inattentive to myself and family. I have been there twice on separate occasions, once around midday and once around late afternoon to watch the sunset.

I ordered a coffee to pass some time in order to view their food menu. I had to wait approximately half an hour! Not only that, but the coffee was served cold. By this time I was a bit irritated and didn't even stay to try the food...otherwise I may have starved. I had hoped for some change after the first experience, however I was disappointed when I had a very similar experience again.

I would recommend that you go there to check the view, otherwise there is a much better restaurant at the foot of the same pier where you can also enjoy the sea views and have a better overall experience.

Fair enough, we were visiting out of season but the lack of other patrons in the restaurant makes the place look somewhat intimidating. Food was ok. Service was ok. Nothing spectacular. Very pricy for mediocre experience.

As regular divers of the coastline, we are always starving after a dive. And supporting local is what we do. We decided to have coffee and a snack at Moyo. Well.....we waited 60minutes for coffee, which when it arrived was ice cold. Our chips were at least a day old, service was non-existent and cocktails were overpriced.
Very disappointing for a well located restaurant on the main promenade. Won't be going there again!
