For a child who has never been to an aquarium or seen a dolphin show this would be good fun, otherwise I would give it a miss. The dolphin show is incredibly "Americanised" with pop music BLARING while the dolphins do their tricks and commentators dancing about in an aerobics style. Felt very sorry for the animals. The aquarium itself was better than the shows, and the sea creatures did have more space to swim around in than I've seen in other aquariums. The curio shops which are in the section next to the aquarium are great, and it is free to get into that bit.

great aquarium & awesome slides. Perfect day out for families - if the food was edible! it's terrible & I have written to them before about it. It's expensive & revolting. The facilities are severely let down by the food on offer.

I saw this location while on a city tour of Durban and went back. The shopping is good, the food is great (variety of choices) and the aquarium is good for kids. Enjoyable!

As a family we were well impressed with the presentation, staff and cleanliness of the full aquarium facility. We were out of season so some of the sites were closed for refurbishment, but all the shows were still on and very well put together.

I had the liberty of Visiting King Shaka Marine World , in Durban, South Africa, during July 2014 and would definitely recommend this experience to fellow travellers. Groupon offers a special which is called the Combo Ticket which can be used for the Aquarium and the Wet and Wild fun slides. I would assume that this is the highest waterslide I have seen in my life.. You have the pleasure of experiencing first class fun and frolic at the mere price for the R98 - R99.00 based on Groupon specials. The regular price is R199.00.The aquarium offers a wide variety and deep sea creatures which are fascinating. They take your breath away. You would not believe what actually lives in our ocean. The attraction offers dolphin shows which is spectacular. Seeing is believing, as Dolphins are the smartest living creatures in this world. Their stunts are amazing. The seal show offers a kind of similar stunt sequence but with humans play acting which I found absolutely thrilling. You can walk around and watch the shark feed, take photos or just walk around, dine or just sit at the beach and watch the waves coming in and out.You are able to walk out the attraction centre and walk the Golden Mile and then come back to the Marine World as long as you still have your wristband which allows you entranc. You can walk along the beaches and I must say that there are various eating places to choose from to suit your budget and your needs and is safe. Or I almost forgot, you can have a rickshaw ride for R40.00 which is exhilirating. Once you visit King Shaka Marine World you will want to definitely go back to visit . I know I am definitely going back this year. It is a fun place for all ages. Kids will definitely love it. I know because mine did.
