We had booked three double rooms at sunsplash and from the information we were given it was a 'B&B'. However the three rooms we were given two were in the main house and the other was round the back in what used to be the maids quarters, we had to ask for towels as they hadn't been provided already, the room out the back had a strong musty smell and i asked for a fan which came without a cover. The beds didn't feel very comfortable. In the house one of the rooms was fine but the fan hardly worked and we would have been sweltering hot at night. The other room looked like it used to be a storage room of sorts, it was a long narrow room with the main door on one end and an external door the other, with a double bed stuck in the middle, its en-suite bathroom was on the opposite side of the corridor. We were also asked at 2pm, when we arrived what we wanted for breakfast in the morning from a choice on the wall all the other B&B's i've stayed let you decide in the morning. The guy who checked us in did seem very nice and friendly but the accommodation just wasn't up to standard. They had no laundry service and only told us to try the local laundrettes who were all to busy to be able to help us.
It is not what I call a three star B&B but because we had been asked to pay for our two night stay upfront before we arrived so we had considered staying. However the rooms were not what we were expecting, if you book three rooms you would expect they would all be in the house not one round the back in a musty room and in hot durban lots of fans. We promptly left to find alternative accommodation in a real 3 star B&B, with a pool, lovely breakfast and owners who were always around. If all the rooms had been of the same standard we would have probably stayed.
