We stopped at the visitors center where the staff could not have been more helpful with maps, attraction leaflets and well-informed advice, which proved accurate.
We also visited the museum with a lot of displays about the history of route 66, including history of the trails to the West coast and the lots about the great depression. It is made personal by copies of letters and diary extracts from people of the time.
There is also a well stocked gift shop and the ticket for the museum gets you access to 2 other museums in Kingman.
