“Really good visitors center and interesting museum”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

We stopped at the visitors center where the staff could not have been more helpful with maps, attraction leaflets and well-informed advice, which proved accurate.

We also visited the museum with a lot of displays about the history of route 66, including history of the trails to the West coast and the lots about the great depression. It is made personal by copies of letters and diary extracts from people of the time.

There is also a well stocked gift shop and the ticket for the museum gets you access to 2 other museums in Kingman.

“A charming look at the past”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

This small museum features the history of Route 66, starting with the creation of a predecessor road. It has a "Grapes of Wrath" display, with quotes from the book and a model of the type of car used by those fleeing the depression on Route 66. Other displays talk about a foot race on Route 66 and other interesting items. There is a room devoted to old phonographs, maps and books, and a display from the hay-day of Route 66, including a Studebaker auto, and replicas of a gas station and a diner, among other objects. of course, there is a gift shop with Route 66 memorabilia. Lots of fun!

“Funny”

Nice place with a lot of funny stuff to see and buy. Can easy use an hour or two in here. Also the outside things make it look old fashioned and interesting.

“Cute!”

A neat little museum, great gift shop. Gives history, nice artifacts and it was inexpensive. There's a visitors center in the same building.

“Neat small museum”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

We took a day trip out to Kingman to go to the Route 66 Museum and then headed over the bypass to Oatman, AZ to get our kicks on Route 66. We started out at the Route 66 museum and had a nice short visit. The museum is not very large, but not very expensive either. Had some interesting history on Route 66 and some cool nostalgic items laid out through the museum.

If you are in the area or want to experience Route 66 this is a great place to stop. Also have a great information desk that will give you a ton of information on directions!
