Our first visit, 12 months ago, was with friends who raved about the NY outlet of this restaurant. While the hotel bar was stylish and drinks good the restaurant was lacking atmosphere and the food (simple pasta and apparently a signature dish) was disappointing. Our second visit (we thought we would give it another chance) was even worse. Souless atmosphere. Service beyond slow. (We should have taken it as a sign and left) Tempura were luke warm, tasteless and greasy. Lasagne sat in the middle of a white plate looking (and tasting) as though it was a downmarket supermarket offering. Veal was almost comical. The Italian host (whose comment that my husband 'looked tired' can only be described as rude) suggested he and my son order potatoes with their veal as he felt the dish needed something with it. They were raw and inedible. The breaded veal 'joint' was equally unappetising, dry and frankly a disgrace. At least they couldn't mess up two glasses of wine. We left...fast. Never again.
