First time I've stayed at this hotel and was reasonably impressed. Beds are comfortable and they have spacious bathrooms. Good views of the surrounding city. Staff friendly and helpful. I can't comment on the food as I ate out during my stay. Hotel is conveniently located for many of the local restaurants. However, it is not advised to walk the streets at night. The hotel will provide a shuttle bus even for the five minutes it takes to get to the nearest eatery. Overall a good experience for me.

I really like to come there for business.
Location of the hotel is excellent : right in the center of Sandton, very close to many great restaurants, bars and clubs (don't good for room service, not worth the wait, and enjoy the lively Jo'Burg nightlife instead !). Rooms are not huge but really nice and clean, with amazing views.
The pool is great too.
They have a very nice bar, which serves proper cocktails.
Breakfast is excellent, really.
The staff is helpful and friendly (as often in South Africa).
And the meeting rooms facilities are very good (there is a huge balcony / terrace around them, ideal for sunny breaks).
Definitely a great place to stay.

I had room service on my first night. I waited over 40 minutes for it to arrive and when it did it was stuck to the plate. The second night I specifically asked for a better meal experience. I waited 45 minutes and when it arrived it was barely lukewarm. The supervisor on the first evening called my meal "disgusting". A shocking level of service.

One of the more expensive hotels in the Sandton area - but not worth the extra money. Rooms set around a vast atrium with a bar in the lobby floor - the atrium just carries the sound - so when you lie in bed you clearly hear the laughter and noise from drinkers below - past midnight! Not the best way to get a good night's sleep.
Nice rooms, nice bathroom, lovely breafast buffet - can't compain of anything but the noise. And afraid that's a major detraction when the main purpose of a business hotel is to get a good night sleep.
And - a bit further away from the shopping mall, Gautrain station and other offices than other hotels in this area.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms which face the atrium - if possible

We are sorry to hear you experienced noise from our lobby bar during your stay with us, we are in the process of trying out a new device which blocks noise accessing the rooms for guests situated around the atrium.

We are a little further away than other hotels however we have a shuttle bus that runs within a 3km radius of the hotel every 30 minutes that is able to assist in taking guests up to surrounding businesses, train station & shopping centre.

We hope to welcome you back in the near future & will ensure you receive a room away from the atrium for a good nights rest.

I went to the hotel by choosing it over the Gautrain one as i got a similar price as that hotel and this one has a better gym i was told. Absolutely correct. The gym is great. If you want to go to this hotel for a workout, then you cant go wrong. However many things in the hotel i dint particularly like. One problem was that you need to take the lift to the 13 floor(reception) and then change it to the room/going down etc. Not really a major issue as there were quite a few lifts and not too much delay, but minor irritation. The service of the hotel at the restaurant/breakfast room is laid back...you can even think this hotel is a tourist hotel as the staff leaves leaves you to your self....or maybe i have become too pampered with the staff at other hotels, but simple things like asking a tea took time...the staff removed my tea pot while i went to get another plate made me a little more unhappy. Rooms are good..quite decent size and pillows are nice. Bathroom was modern and had soap etc. There were small bottles of water and i had to ask to refill regularly and the staff provided it with smiles. However internet went down twice when i was there...never heard of this stuff in other hotels.
Breakfast itself was standard and i have had better muffins/danish pastries before. there is a egg station which does make nice omletes and one one day they had very nice noodles also in the hot meals
I think its nice business hotel, located at a very nice place and has a car hire agency downstairs though i dint use it ..had another agency which my office booked but needs to improve service levels.

I just want to say that I and my colleagues were robbed at gun point right in front of the Radisson Blu, Sandton in broad day light as we arrived from the airport on April 7, 2013. The transport service that conveyed us was affiliated to the Hotel. The driver showed no concern, neither did the hotel staff, because after the armed robbers left, we ran into the hotel lobby in anxiety and apprehension, but the hotel staff who were at the lobby did not even say a word to us. Granted that the reception of the hotel was on the 13th floor, but there were porters who could have even shown some concern. It was only after at least 25 mins that a hotel official came to talk to us. Apparently, the hotel did not have patrol security on its premises. I was robbed of ALL my belongings, including my passport. The hotel subsequently provided us with some money to replace our basics like toiletries and very ,invited sets of clothes.

We were saddened by the incident that occurred and apologise for the anxiety this caused. Unfortunately this has been an isolated incident & was out of the hotel’s control. The manager on duty assisted in the best manner possible & money was given to assist with clothing & necessary items until we could contact your company to assist further.

Our security team are working closely with other hotels, security teams and the Police in Sandton to avoid the same happening again in future within the area. We have taken your feedback as positive criticism & will use it to ensure our operations are as secure as possible.

After trying different (supposedly) “best choice” hotels in Jo´burg the Radisson Blu Sandton is definitely “my choice” for my next trips (in fact, I am already been booked for the next one).
The rooms are very ample and clean and, as this is a tall building (with no obstacles), you will enjoy good 360º views of the city.
Service is quite good with a friendly (but not over amicable and/or false pose) staff.
Breakfast is excellent, however the menu in the restaurant and in the café bar is quite limited, although this is quite understandable as the hotel is very close to Mandela Square and most people will use the Hotel Shuttle Service to explore some of the good Restaurants in the City.
