The hotel is very nice and clean, the central hall is beautiful and our room was big and comfortable. I liked the clothes hanging line in the bathroom, although I'd place it if a spot where you don't have to choose between drying your clothes or taking a shower. The free shuttle to the near shopping mall is a great feature, and all the staff was nice and friendly.
I was only a bit miffed that drinks other than regular filter coffee at breakfast must be paid for extra - since in the Radisson in Frankfurt, with one star less, they are included.
Another critique, although this is a common one to *every* hotel where they have toiletries:they smell nice, but the hair conditioner is rubbish. I haven't got much hair, yet i used the whole thing and it was no different that using fabric softener.

I stayed here in April after a 4 week world trip and was so excited to see this beautiful gym and relax. The gym alone is totally worth it to stay here, spa services, sauna, pool, jacuzzi..it had it all. The hotel is very modern with great atmosphere in the lobby, bar, restaurant and close to Mandela Square. Beds were incredibly comfortable! Just like a westin heavenly bed.

I highly recommend staying here. The only thing that didn't get it a Excellent review was just my opinion of the front desk. At check in and check out they weren't very welcoming which I think it actually common in Joburg, but just sad because they are usually your first impression and the greeters to the hotel. Other than the front desk, The room service were so kind and the downstairs taxi coordinator was great too. I love it and would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: The small cafe in the gym is the perfect lunch and breakfast- plus the prices are so much cheaper than in the restaurant. Great healthy options!

Centrally located in Sandton (Joberg's "new" uptown CBD), about five minutes walk away fromt the train station (w/ very convenient service to JNB airport), Sandton Center and Nelson Mandela Square. Cheap onsite parking (30R overnight). Breakfast and rooms are good but to be honest, nothing to really write home about. There's a great outdoor pool (not nearly as large as the photos suggest) but it's also unheated. Very good concierge service helped arrange JNB sightseeing on a very last minute stopover.

Note this is a good 20-30min from downtown JNB (i.e. Carlton Center + the "old" CBD).

~US250/night for a regular room w/ queen(?) sized bed. Reasonably priced relative to other Sandton options (at least on a last minute basis, only booked this a few hours before departure) but certainly not cheap. Then again, nothing in ZA is particularly cheap.

I stayed at Radisson Blu while travelling on business for two weeks. The rooms are spacious enough that you don't feel claustrophobic after two whole weeks. The buffet breakfast is fantastic and you have access to the adjoining three level gym (including yoga classes!). There is also a constant shuttle to take you to Sandton City (shopping) and Mandela Square (eating). Highly recommended.

Room tip: The higher the floor the better. Closer to the bottom you will get noise from the bar in the lobby.

I have stayed here on a few occasion for work whilst visiting Johannesburg and this hotel is fantastic. I can't tell you what the prices are as the hotel is always pre-booked for me but I can say the rooms as lovely, the hotel staff very friendly, service is good and the hotel is well located and secure. DUring my stay I used room service, the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner and the bar all were very good. This last trip (late June) I saw Charles Dance and some famous rugby players old and new staying here (The England vs SA tour was on over the weekend).

Room tip: Don;t stay in the rooms opposite the lifts as these can be distracting if you want a late sleep.
