“Mmmm, pizza.”

Delicious wood-fired pizza. Won't disappoint! Went back there twice during a 5 day business trip, when there are tons of alternatives within a very short distance.

“Best pizza in Sandton!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2012

I'm a regular at Tivoli for three reasons - convienient for the surrounding hotel chains, choice of sitting inside, on the balcony or outside on the terrace, and the best pizza in Sandton from the wood-fired oven. Nice ambiance with oil burners on the tables and top tunes playing in the background (although the current playlist seems to be aimed at the elderly so hopefully that will be rectified quickly!)

“Decent food”

This was a good Italian restaurant with attentive staff. Nothing out of the ordinary but if you want a pizza or pasta dish this is the place to go!

“Revolting”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2012

Whilst visit the Village Walk Shopping Centre (what a disappointment) we discover only one or two restaurants open. Tivoli looked good choice with a pleasant ambiance. To start our awful experience, not one waiter or manager informed the lady at the table next to us that smoking is prohibited in restaurants in South Africa. Our drinks were slow and they forgot our starter. The main dishes ... the prawn and calamari combo costs a wopping R180.00 which is expensive for a South African meal. Our main dishes arrived. The combo consisted of 4 prince prawns (very small), a serving spoon size portion of chips and a serving spoon size full of calamari which looked like it had been boiled and the fried in Bovril. AND it was all cold... The veal schnitzel looked and tasted like tenderised pork sausage. It was disgusting. We complained. The manager literally ran past our table into the kitchen to avoid us and sent the second in command. I was embarrassed for him. We were offered a credit on one of the meals and some free pizzas if we came back at a lunch time. What a disgusting experience and you are giving this to our very important tourists that visit our country and fall prey to your high prices and revolting food.
Suggestions to Tivoli.... fire your white manager urgently. Replace him with the black second in command. Half your menu size and double your portions and quality of food. You have a captive audience with so many tourists stay at the hotels next door and the JSE across the road.
