I found the museum and exhibits very well put together. It was humbling and emotional experience. I took lots of time to take it all in - I was there for four hours including a pleasant lunch at Cedric's.

I took an overseas visitor to see one of our historic sights. It is very impressive and well done.
We found that the hour's tour was sufficient as there is only so much information one can take in at a time.
Definitely worth a repeat visit. It was also a poignant visit in view of the recent death of Nelson Mandela.
Great place for learning about South African history! The exhibitions are well organised and explain in every single detail not only the actual events that made this place famous, but also events that came before and after the famous arrest of Nelson Mandela and other ANC members. It is very interactive and keeps you wanting more information, like a gripping story. And this is a story worth telling!
If you're at all interested in South African history, this place is fascinating!! A little off the beaten track as it were so could easily be overlooked. Well worth going to however, especially for the relatively low entrance price.
For anyone with an interest in South Africa's recent history Liliesleaf is a must see. The Rivonia property has been sucessfully transformed into a modern museum which details the ANC struggle against the white minority government. Many of the displays in the main house and outbuildings are interactive and provide a fascinating insight into the covert operations of MK and the ANC leading up to the famous Rivonia trial in 1963 and the subsequent incarceration of many of the leaders including Nelson Mandela. The on site cafe serves light meals in a relaxing modern setting.
