We enjoyed our tour of the zoo and dinner at the restaurant. Lots of local animals in nicely designed cages. Lots of interesting animals, we enjoyed the aquarium and reptile areas. The rstaurant was buffet for dinner, ugh, but the food was decent.

The zoo is well run, with a very active Friends of the zoo programme. The enclosures are constantly revamped. There are golf carts and childrens push carts for hire. Lovely picnic and bbq areas. Safe parking in front of the zoo. Great variety of animals.

Fantastic Zoo. Animals well looked after. Zoo is very big and with all the attractions time is just flying. So much fun for kids and whole family. We went there in the morning and we had picnic looking at animals. It was one of our best Sunday breaks:)

The zoo was big, well kept and some of the animals were taken out for husbandry. I really like the aquarium. One can rent a cart for the rounds in the park. The snakes, the shark. A very nice and well maintained zoo.

Went to the zoo this past weekend, and had so much fun.

We got there around 9 in the morning and only left around 4 but the great thing is that you don't even realize time passes you by so fast and that is because there is just so much to see.

What i enjoyed the most was seeing the many different kinds of birds that they have at the zoo, and of course my my favourite animal of all the 3 elephants that they have adopted, i only remember the one's name who was pointed out to me as Thandi.

I also love the tigers, there was a white tiger that was just lazing about, i swaer it was thinkg " Look at all these people , it's like its the first time time seeing a tiger" and the black and brown tiger was very teritorial moving up and down the whole time.
It was truely amazing seeing these animals at such a close range, God's creatures are really amazing, the experiance is nothing like waht you feel when you see it on tv.

What i found funny was the noemal everyday animals that they also had at the zoo,the chickens and horses " lol" i did not expext to see them.

It was a day worth tiring one out, as we saw the grizzly bear, seals playing in their pool, the beautiful giraffe , two huge corcodiles wow it was scary and the reptiles, from snakes and the comodo dragon etc.

It is a great place to go as a couple our yuor family, where you can picnic and have a braai!
Given a chance take a ride in the cable cart, it is rocky but it gives you a great view of the whole zoo, and of the surrounding pretoria area and that when you realize that you actually in the cbd and that it's the perfect place to get away for some fresh air!

Next time I visit, I definately plan on having a relaxing pinic with my baby!
