“A great little spot in Pretoria for burgers and craft beer”

Situated next to the highly regarded De Kloof restaurant, the DK Burger & Craft Beer Bar is a wonderful little gem.

The menu is dead simple - one salad, six burgers, a handful of sides. Everything is homemade - the patties, the buns, even the ketchup (which is divine!). The burgers are great value for money, with thick, juicy patties and delicious accompaniments - the rosemary salted potato wedges and beer-basted onion rings are especially good.

Come early enough in the evening, and you can enjoy a pleasant sunset view, and then kick back with any one of their numerous craft beers. From IPAs to ginger beers to pumpkin ales, there's something for everyone, and their prices are very reasonable.

We have eaten a DK burgers twice, both times being seduced by the Wagyu beef burgers and tasty craft beers.

The setting is lovely, great balcony view - perfect for a long lazy lunch. The menu is limited, but the burgers are special. Skip desert and starters and rather just enjoy the burgers & beer.

Cocktails are also tasty!

DK Burger is one of the few places in Pretoria that offers a wide selection of craft beer. The burger I had was of exceptional quality and taste - fresh golden toasted sesame bun, crispy rocket, home made mayonnaise, a ground beef patty cooked to perfection.

Is the quality great - yes, the price - a tad expensive as side orders (e.g. french fries) are not included. The ambiance - we sat outside on the porch and it felt as if we were having a burger and beer at a friend's house or at one of those kiosk restaurant's that you would find on the beach.

We sat on the "stoep" drinking beers, watching golfers on the driving range and decided that this is definitely the place to visit for a burger and beer especially after a round of golf.

Deliciously creative burgers made with the best ingredients combined with a wide selection of craft beers. Burgers made from meat such as rib-eye, lamb, venison and wagyu beef. Excellent restaurant for the whole family. Outside seating available for less windier days. The service was very good and staff looked after us during a leisurely lunch.

My husband and I were somewhat uncertain about going to a restaurant with such a small menu but the list of South African craft beers sold us so we made reservation and set out on an unseasonably chilly Saturday night. We were very impressed from the time we arrived. We were well looked after by two members of staff (it was very quiet).

Although it was too cold to sit outside we took a walk around outdoors and were blown away by the magnificent view of Pretoria. My husband had a beef burger which, although simple, he claimed was the best burger he had eaten. I was a little disappointed that there was no vegetarian burger on the menu and had to opt for a salad with halumi but when the food arrived I was no longer disappointed as the salad was excellent with the halumi marinated in something spectacularly delicious. We had a creme brulee to share for dessert and were amazed by the work of art which was delivered.

We drank a number of the craft beers and received good recommendations from the manager. All of the beers were in stock which is often not the case when ordering craft beers.

All in all it was a very pleasant experience and i would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Pretoria who enjoys craft beers or burgers.
