Outstanding family outing for all ages. The rabbits were equally as impressive for my eight year old as the lion cubs we got to bottle feed. We learned a lot and will never forget our encounter with the lions, rabbits and meerkats. Highly recommend this to any animal lover.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Gracious and very knowledgeable horse ride instructors from the pre-induction phase to the end of the trail.. Varied trail that gives you a chance to experience different wildlife up-close and different horse-handling techniques. Quiet and peaceful place. Polo ground, if you are interested.

Animals are wounderful creatures on earth, we need to take good care of them.
My experience at Horseback Africa was magnificent and great, walking with the lions, playing and feeding the lions was a true live experience of my lifetime. The team there were wounderful people, taking through an induction before going on the tour was unique and educative.
This is really a place to visit from time to time

Walking with the lions was an incredible experience and a highlight of my entire trip to South Africa. There were eight of us who walked with two six month old cubs in the bush and then we met newborns and two in the group fed them with baby bottles. After all that, we enjoyed a delicious al fresco lunch. What's not to like about a day like that? Definitely go there if you are in the Joburg/Pretoria area.

Travelled to Pretoria to visit Horseback Africa. Six of us stayed for three days and had plenty to keep us busy. The safari horseback rides (about 3 hours) were awesome great chance to take in the scenery and animals along the route. Horses were very good and well selected for the riders experience. Helmets and riding chaps were provided. Our guides Megan and Brandon were very knowledgable about the area and the animals we saw. Our accommodations were in the main lodge, rooms was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. Meals were home cooked and tasty and were eaten outdoors each day Our afternoon "Walking with lions" was a once in a lifetime experience. We learned, observed and experienced being with them. My 8 year old daughter also had the opportunity to bottle feed 3 month old lion cubs during our stay. Polo games were organized and played on the home field each evening. Horses well suited to riders and grooms very attentive and helpful. The staff and MacRae family truly do a great job and made our stay one we will never forget!
