If you cannot get to Kruger National park, Addo elephant park etc--and you are visiting relatives or friends in Gauteng near Johannesburg or Pretoria and you want to see -a bit of Africa--then this is well worth a visit.
You will drive around the reserve ( 4x4 not needed) and there are some points where you can get out your car taking care of any animals nearby. Mostly one sees zebra, blesbok.spingbok, ostrich and Wildebeest--there are Rhino--although ones does not always see them. There is also hippo and crocodile (we never saw them). There is a picnic site near a dam--with a sign warning one of crocodiles, snakes and baboons--and an old farm house which is now a small restaurant. From here one take a tour into the lion reserve (which has to be done in their vehicle). It is an experience of Africa--right near the highway--and yet one is "in the wild"!
