Was excited to book this tour following the reviews on trip advisor. On the morning of pickup though we were met by someone other than Patrick. The guide for the day advised that he is used when Patrick is busy and needs help. At no stage were we advised of this situation which I feel is poor business.

Having said this the day was for the most part good. The intent of the day was to spend time in the Pilanesburg reserve, but we ended up only spending 2.5 hours in the park before being taken to lunch. Just not enough to really see everything. The second half of the day was a visit to Sun City. If you are not interested in a tourist trap, then suggest you do not include this in your tour. It is ok, but the Big 5 is one of the draws of South Africa, not fake temples and casinos.

So a good day...but should have been great !!

First of all, Patrick is fantastic. Great wealth of knowledge on animals, geology, SA history and the social phenomenon that makes up RSA. I took a private tour from Joberg to "Walk with Lions," then went to the game park in Pilanesberg in the afternoon, overnight and next day. Patrick has a nice Mitsubishi four wheel drive vehicle that is above the grass line (critical), and is a safe driver. Additional hours for side tours is very reasonably priced.

I thoroughly enjoyed our discussions on the wildlife and social issues which added a personal dimension to the adventure. Patrick is well known at many of the attractions and thus this makes it very easy to plan and change your trip itinerary. We had some adhoc adventure opportunities which we were able to take advantage of, and Patrick is very easy going and accommodative.

Thanks for the great adventure...will see you in a month with my family!

Thank you so much Randy. It was a great couple of days and appreciate your knowledge too! Particularly the tips on the idiosyncrasies of brakes on SUV's like the Mitsubishi!

Following an excellent one day tour of Johannesburg and Soweto in June 2012 where Patrick was our guide, we asked him to organise a two day tour to the Pilanesburg NP and historical Pretoria for February 2014. We were picked up at the airport by Patrick's driver, Steven, and met up with Patrick in a petrol station near the Cheetah Lodge where we were to stay the night. Early next morning Patrick took us to the Elephant Sanctuary which should not be missed. From there we drove to the Kwa Maritane Lodge for an overnight stay. Patrick had organised a four hour safari in the late afternoon when amongst other animals we were lucky enough to witness two lionesses stalking a herd of zebras. The following morning we went on an early morning safari with Patrick. We saw many more animals, large and small, and Patrick's knowledge about them all was impressive. Our trip ended with a very interesting and informative tour of Pretoria and in the late afternoon, as requested, we were taken to our hotel near the airport. The tour met all our expectations due to Patrick's local knowledge and excellent organisation.

Thank you so much Patrick for all your help in planning our fantastic holiday. We truly couldn't have done it without your knowledge and expertise - especially considering how little time we had to plan. The choices you arranged for us were excellent... Laughing Waters , Swaziland, the Durban coast, Little Switzerland, Pretoria... all hugely enjoyable.... and being at Salt Rock Hotel for Valentines Day was something we'll remember for ever. Huge thanks for your planning and flexibility. How lucky we were to find you !

We discovered Mmilo tours while brousing on the internet for information about accomodation in the Pilanesberg NP. where we wanted to spend the first part of our holiday. Patrick (the owner) responded promptly to our enquiries giving suggestions and a quote within 24 hours. We soon had telephone contact to Patrick and were impressed by his friendly, efficient manner and already we felt we were in good hands.
All further arrangements before and during our trip (accomodation, food, entrance fees etc) were made by Patrick, we didn´t need to worry about anything. Patrick collected us at Jo´burg Airport and drove us to the Black Rhino Private Lodge in the Pilanesberg NP(via the Magaliesberge) where we had a wonderful 2 night stay and 4 game drives. After this Patrick collected us and drove us to the beautiful Mankwe Dam in the heart of Pilanesberg on our way to Lesedi. As we were a little late arriving here for the afternoon show Patrick personally attended to our check-in there, while we were on the tour, even arranging a different room for us as he wasn´t satisfied with the one allocated to us.
Next morning Patrick collected us again to take us via the elephant sanctuary to our hotel in Jo´burg where after a one-night stay he came again to take us back to the airport.
We can highly recommend Patrick as a tour guide, his friendly, flexible, reliable manner is very refreshing. He is very informative, punctual, and easy to talk to - we could have spent twice as much time with him without running out of subjects to talk about! We felt perfectly safe with him and we shall certainly contact him again in the future.
Thank you Patrick for everything, but especially for making the first part of our holiday so wonderful, we shall never forget this experience. We wish you all the very best for the future, and send many greetings from Germany from Gillian and Andy.

Thank Gillian S
