This hotel is well-appointed and clearly a favourite with visiting dignitaries and government officials but falls short of a being a welcoming hotel for the private visitor. Check-in was efficient while not overly friendly. Our room was hot and stuffy with a window that could not be opened and an air-conditioner that failed to cool the room. The great view of the Union Buildings was spoilt by the extremely dirty window. The hair drier in the room was not working but luckily my wife had brought her own. Wifi was free but was extremely slow.
The service at dinner when food was ordered from the menu was extremely slow and the chicken breast portion that my wife ordered from the main course section of the menu was so small it could have been mistaken for a starter which it was not. My steak was acceptable. The dining area seemed more geared to the buffet which we did not want although breakfast was acceptable.
On check out we waited in the lounge area of the foyer as it was more comfortable than the hot room. Again service was slow and chaotic due to a lack of staff with a bowl of snacks taking almost an hour to arrive.
In summary, a grand looking hotel situated in an area other than the grand Union Buildings, that has seen better days and where service levels are currently disappointing.

We popped in here for a quick drink as it was quite warm. But we’re tempted with the simple but perfectly formed lunch menu.

Pizza and risotto fitted the bill. Very nicely done. Lovely environment and staff attentive.

Even a walk by from the manager was pleasant and welcoming.

Property - A grand property harking back to a different era, with a safari like theme, large murals and nostalgically decorated. Well maintained.

Location - very convenient location with a view of the Union buildings. Easy access to all amenities and attractions.

Rooms - spacious and well appointed. Immaculately laid out not wanting for any comfort. Very quiet and peaceful. Staff unobtrusive

Booking and Reception - booking was handled very capably. Reception was a little busy meaning a little wait but ultimately warm. Checkout was smooth.

Dining - Most staff were very helpful and food quality was reasonably good. Lack of condiments at the buffet. Egg chef displayed lack of sensitivity for vegetarian needs. Training required. Food a little on the bland side.

Overall - High quality hotel, staff and management generally very eager to help save for the chef concerned and there is room for improvement in this department to make this more vegetarian and diet friendly. Otherwise very comfortable and convenient.

We spent a week here for a business conference. I was really impressed by the opulence and luxury offered by the Sheraton, from the imposing lobby, to the clean and comfortable rooms, to the excellent conference spaces. I was also impressed by the excellent breakfast and lunch buffets here. Overall, highly recommend - it's great value for the price.

The so called "Presidential suites" are a norm in this hotel. It takes a real tight budget to get here. Perfect for honeymoons for newly weds. Perfectly situated on the entry from N1 AND N12. No words can explain how classy let alone how extraordinary this hotel is.

Room tip: All rooms are perfect depending on the preference.
