We stayed here for one night on our way home from a safari holiday and found it very good. The location was good for us and they gave us a nice room overlooking the Presidential building and gardens. The room was large and the whole place beautifully decorated. We had a very nice meal
in the Tiffany Bar and restuarant and tried some local wines. The staff were friendly and the buffet
breakfast was excellent. A very slow checkout was our only problem. The outside deck area is nice for an afternoon drink.

Dear Frankofile,

Welcoming you as our guests was a great honor and it's wonderful to know that you had a very pleasant stay in a nice room overlooking the Union Buildings, enjoyed your meals at Tiffin’s Bar & Lounge as well as the breakfast buffet served in the Magnolia restaurant by friendly associates.

Thank you for highlighting the slow checkout. More emphasis will certainly be placed on improving this process.

Warm regards,

First off they have CRONUTS!!

In town for work and am starting my 8th week here.. The staff for the most part is out of this world.. Rooms are great size and modern. Cheap underground parking.. Great view of the Union Buildings.. The staff has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome..

But.. The food sucks.. Breakfast isn't bad but its the same thing everyday.. After 8 weeks it gets old.. Dinner is over priced and is among the worst food I have had.. I have given them several tries but the food at the R350 buffet should be thrown in the garbage.. Every thing is dry and tough.. Even the made to order steaks and chicken is like eating a shoe. There have been several times I left and went up the road to McDonalds.. The Service is even worse..

I see the issue being this the students that are working in the kitchen and the dinning room.. They have no clue what to do.. It takes forever to get a drink.. they don't clear the tables.. The drop and spill things all the time..

So its a very nice hotel but if your in the dinning area and someone with a black blazer offers to help you

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice.. But if your a smoker ask for a Balcony room with a street view

Dear CBSjoe,

Thank you for the assessment and making us aware of your concerns.

I’m glad you like the hotel, the size of the rooms, had a great view of the Union Building and that most associates really made you feel welcome.

As a valued guest your opinion is highly regarded and it’s disappointing to know that the food and service in the restaurant was not what you had expected. Please accept my most sincere apology, especially for being so tolerant during the 8 weeks of your stay.

I would like to assure you that your concerns are noted for consideration in any menu changes and on-going training efforts to ensure the highest level of service to each and every one of our guests.

Yours sincerely

Looking out my window, I had a view of union building and the park. Breakfast was nice and I especially liked the waffle iron so you could make your own waffles. The pool was sadly enough closed for maintenance, but it looked rather small

Dear traveladdictions,

It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the view of the Union Buildings and gardens from your bedroom window.

I’m delighted that you loved making your own waffles for breakfast and hope you’ll try the cronuts next time you visit.

Sorry for the pool not being available when you visited, but hopefully it will be ready next time around.

Warm regards,

Nice big hotel with good sized rooms. Check in is quite slow though so don't be in a hurry. Breakfast had a decent variety and the dinner buffet was ok if you like that sort of thing. Hotel is not in the best area, but a 15 minute drive to a decent area with proper restaurants etc.

Dear Anita B,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I’m glad you liked the size of the hotel and rooms, and that you were content with the breakfast spread. Your remark about check-in being quite slow is noted for further improvement.

It’s regrettable that you were not impressed with the dinner buffet, since we have implemented the live grill option to enhance the normal buffet. Nevertheless, your opinion is highly regarded for consideration.

Stayed here as part of a tour group. I found it very comfortable and a great location. Rooms were great size and facilities, staff were welcoming and friendly. Service in restaurant a tad slow, but it is Africa!! :)
