at the Irene opstal, one can see the cattle, chickens walking around, one can sit either inside or outside in the garden. Feels like your away on holiday.

We had a great afternoon with a very curious chicken walking underneath our table. It was lovely walking around the farm before our lunch which was worth the wait. The quiche was creamy and the salad was fresh and tasty.

ESSENTIAL TO VISIT .
Irene Dairy Farm is the most popular place in the Tshawane/Pretoria area for its beautiful lawns and the exposure for kids to Farm animals on a live Dairy Farm.
Deck Restaurant overlooks all this in modern convenience and the Shop provides Continental Pastries and Meats and fresh Dairy products at a reasonable price.
Restauranteurs kept cool on the HOTTEST day by fine water mist sprayers.
CULTURE SHOCK . Cash Payment NOT Accepted. Payment ONLY accepted by Credit Card.(The MODERN security safe way to go)

Thank William H

A friend of mine came to visit me from outside of SA. I wasn't quite sure where to take him for breakfast until I remembered he ran a farm and probably missed home a bit.

I decided to take him to the Irene dairy farm.
The food came very quickly and the service was of acceptable levels.
Nothing kept us there I must say.
The seating was a bit uncomfortable and so nothing encouraged me to stay on and busk in the warm winter sun while sipping on some heart warming cocktail.
It is an ideal for families with kids in my opinion.

A cute and lovely place nonetheless...

Irene dairy farm is just down the road from where we stay, so we drop by on a regular basis to stock up on the farm store’s fresh goodies – from home made ginger beer to milk tart. The Deck is adjacent to the store and offers a great vantage point to watch the kids playing on the vast lawns while having a cappuccino or light meal. Breakfast is superb and the setting unique. The kids can even watch the cows being milked or visit the calves in their stalls... all of this in the middle of the city. Strangely enough, neither the store, nor the restaurant accepts cash – so it is credit cards only.
