We made up a table of three and we all had a lovely evening. The food was unusual and delicious.

The service was unobtrusive and polished, yet friendly, though wine by the glass could have been brought in the original bottle and poured at the table, rather than ready-poured.

Overall, a splendid, unrushed evening of fine-dining.

A more elegant restaurant one could not ask for. Overlooking the lush greens of the Waterkloof Golf Club, there's not much to fault. The watrons are discreet and warmly efficient all at the same time. The atmosphere lets you get down and do what you're there to do - to eat, drink and enjoy! The menu is carefully crafted for the discerning pallet, and the wine pairings are lovingly written up on a chalk board - demonstrating a dynamic, change-oriented kitchen and management staff that are geared towards altering the status quo to continue to bring the best from their kitchen and cellar. Definitely worth it, albeit somewhat pricey for the "every week" night out. Once a month is sufficient for this level of spoiling, and other restaurants pale in comparison.

This is not the first time we have eaten here and the quality is always good. They have just launched a new menu with many new and interesting flavours. They are all very complex and interesting and I had a hard time choosing as they all are very different. I had the Peruvian platter to start and can also recommed the lamb carpaccio. The desserts are also a mouth watering delight with the koeksister ice cream being a hit. Service as always was discreet and pleasant. So give your tastebuds a surprise and order something you have never tried or thought could be combind before.

The sunset from the balcony outside is always spectacular and would recommed you book a table on the balcony to view it on a warm summer's evening.

The wine list is varied and never dull and you can order quite a few craft beers as well.

A great deal of imagination had gone into the menu, and one wondered a little whether the execution would live up to some of the fairly complex dishes. In the event, it was a triumph. The presentation was beautiful, the tastes all chimed together perfectly, and the individual elements -- down to the brioche with the fois gras -- were excellent. The ingredients were carefully sourced (really good chicken, for instance, is not that common) and cleverly cooked and combined. It was good, too, to have a chance to talk to chef and hear the thinking behind some of the dishes.

The service struck just the right note -- friendly without being familiar -- and the wine list was particularly interesting. The views, as others have noted, are superb. Altogether a delightful lunch: we'll be back.

After a lovely lunch enjoyed at De Kloof in August, my mother and I decided to make reservations at De Kloof for Christmas lunch. We were well aware that on a day like that, with a large amount of people dining at once, the experience would be different to the previous lunch. The food was tasty (the ceviche canape and Moroccan lamb in particular were lovely), although it was a little cool at times. The plating remained up to the standard set previously. The wine pairing was also delicious. I would however suggest that prior to hosting such a large-scale event again, the servers be prepared more thoroughly. Over the course of the meal, we had no less than 4 servers helping us. Only one introduced himself to us. They seemed anxious and intimidated by the amount of people visiting the restaurant. We had to repeatedly ask about the wine pairing for our main course only to be brought the wrong wine. There was a mistake on our bill that took quite some time to correct. The service was the only blight on what would have been a lovely lunch.
