The place is amazing: flora like you have never seen before (if you are from the Northern hemisphere)

Visiting the gardens was excellent. There is a variety of areas to view. The gardens are designed to meet the needs of the young and old as well as those who may be visually impaired.

This is a huge botanical garden; we visited in very early spring, September, when there wasn't much in bloom. But the famous protea, national flower of South Africa, were blooming, and there were lots of birds and little animals about, including many guinea fowl, which have blue faces. Start at the top and walk down, downhill all the way. It's a great way to spend an afternoon. And, there is a fabulous gift shop.
