The most amazing Hotel ever! Outstanding service and setting, one is made to feel super special. Magnificent views and awesome facilities! Stunning ambience and atmosphere. Quaint shops and restaurants within walking distance. Beautiful upmarket decor and first class guest amenities. Look out for the local tortoise!

Room Tip: Mountain facing suites and "garden" units fantastic.

Dear Shelley-Ann

Thank you for your amazing review. I am pleased to see you mention the tortoise, did you know we have eight of them? They are really great when one wants to keep the kids busy, send them to look for all eight.

Wishing you a great summer.

Kind regards

I have stayed at the vineyards once a year for the past 3 years. It is a lovely hotel. The staff are always happy to help and you are always greeted with a smile. I look forward to returning.

The rooms are excellent with comfortable beds and the rooms are very quite. Breakfast is one of the best I have seen. I used the hotel shuttle to the V and A waterfront this trip and found it very easy and affordable.

This time I noticed that the same staff are working at the hotel, I think this is a very good thing, happy staff, usually make for happy customers.

This is a unique hotel, with different handwritings of every single member of the owner's family. It is very personal, altough the size might set other expectations. Explore the garden, enyoy the mountain view from your room or during breakfast outside and just relax at this quite part of Capetown. I can really recommend it!

Dear Matthias

We appreciate you taking time to share your experience at the Vineyard. It is indeed a special place, with the family's active involvement and of course the many staff that have been here for years able to provide that personal attention.

We are now into summer and the gardens are looking great.

Kind regards

I have been stayed at the Vineyard when travelling on business to Cape Town for close on 18 years. Apart from one occasion some years ago when some clothes I left in the room, after I had checked out, were stolen, I was delighted to return to the Vineyard: group travel poicy had meant I had to endure an hotel in the Waterfront on some recent trips. The River room I stayed in was one of the newer rooms; well proportioned, modern with big bathroom and a lovely private sun terrace. The rooms are not in the main part of the hotel but are quiet yet close to the spa, pool and gym and you can park right near the rooms. Breakfast buffet was excellent as always with plenty of fresh fruit, continental and cooked breakfast options, as well as wide choice of bakery and bread items. The hotel suffered a power outage on the last night I stayed and despite this beong outside their control, and without requseting it, no charge was made for the room when I checked out.

Dear Grant

Thank you so much for your review. Pleased you could come back, and that your travel policy has changed. Those river rooms are amazing, especially the tranquility one has just listening to the sound of the water running by when sitting out on the patio.

I am grateful we had the opportunity to chat before you left, I have passed on your sentiments to the team.

We look forward to seeing a lot more of you now.

Warm regards

I spent two nights at the Vineyard after a strenuous two week safari and prior to a road trip on the Garden Route. The hotel definitely has the wow factor: interesting history, a beautiful building sensitively extended and delightful gardens. It also hosts various conferences and private functions - including a wedding whilst I was there. The backdrop of Table Mountain shrouded in cloud (Newlands experiences greater rainfall than other suburbs) is unforgettable. However, heavy security in the surrounding area is very apparent and I was advised not to take anything of value with me when I went out for a stroll on Sunday afternoon. I was upgraded to a superior room which was tastefully designed and stylishly furnished and I slept soundly in a very comfortable bed. I had a Thai massage at the spa which was heavenly and the service was impeccable. Great choice of food at breakfast and attentive service from all staff. Highly recommended.

The Vineyard Hotel has been one of the best hotels in South Africa, or even the world, for many years. The service has always been perfect, especially in the restaurants.
I have visited three times in the last month and each time the service has been poor. The staff have little enthusiasm to take orders, bring food to the table, see if all is ok and the take ages to bring the bill and then ages to bring the credit card machine/change. It is so sad to see a hotel of such repute to be going this way.

Dear Tony

Thank you for sharing you recent experiences.

We have addressed the speed of service with each of our teams, and have also acquired additional mobile credit card machines for the patio where we were experiencing problems.

I believe that you will see an improvement on your next visit.

Kind regards
