“Simple, Elegant and Comfortable Luxury”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

This Hotel is the epitome of luxury and refined elegance. I was welcomed by the staff with some delicious hot chocolate on a cold rainy day. My room was clean, comfortable and well furnished. The breakfast buffet is something out of this world from the smoked Salmon to the freshly baked doughnuts and fresh fruit. This experience was simply delightful and made the awful Cape Town weather more bearable. The Monday night wine tasting was not too bad either :)
Definitely would go back for work and leisure travel.

We are grateful for your posting, thank you! While so much of the physical part of the hotel evolves, keeping up to date, many things remain the same, the splendid view of the mountain, the gardens and of course the gentle welcoming of guests who have stayed before.

The suite you refer to is particularly great as one can lie in bed looking south along the spine of Table Mountain as it heads to Cape Point.

We look forward to your return.

Kind Regards

Roy Davies

A return visit to this remarkable Hotel in the midst of the Cape's beauty and splendour brought back to me the memories of three family weddings which took place here over the years past.
The service was exceptional the bridal suite superb and the grounds and gardens lent themselves in every way to the proceedings......No wonder my brother and aunt were loyal members here. Thankyou Vineyard for maintaining such high standards all these years .I am sure to return.

Room Tip: Overlooking the Kirstenbosch mountain side.......corner suite is great

Dear Jackie

Having breakfast on the patio is one of the real treats at the Vineyard, especially with the family.

We hope to see you again, in summer, when the patio and garden under the trees are even more inviting.

Warm Regards

We stayed at the Vineyard for 3 nights at the end of August. Perfectly located (our daughters are at UCT), it was a brilliant base for our extended weekend. The staff were helpful and accommodating, the room was recently refurbished - very stylish, well laid out and very reasonable (booked through Bookings.com), and the breakfasts outstanding. Sitting on the veranda enjoying breakfast as a family - with a view of the beautiful gardens and the mountain beyond - memories are made of this!

Thank you very much for 'putting pen to paper'.

The Bedtime stories are amazing, great little reads just before dozing off to sleep. We have a number of these stories so no need to read the same one.

I will also have the Chefs look into making more vegetarian meals available through our restaurants.

Kind regards

The hotel is in a very nice peaceful neighborhood but 20 minutes drive from the happening Long Street. The breakfast buffet is amazing and have extended hours on Sunday which is like that special touch.

The service is probably the best in South africa and is close to India standards. The lady would come in the evening and 'open the bed' and place chocolates and a nice small read for bed time. This shows their passion for great hospitality and their leadership.

The only downside was that the menu was limited for vegetarians. So vegetarians should venture out often for food.

Dear Chandan

We really appreciate the note on your impressions and experiences at the Vineyard. We have taken note of your request for more vegetarian options.

We have a wonderful selection of short stories, so one would need to stay a long time to get though them all.

Kind regards

staying at the Vineyard is like being a guest in a stately old home. The rooms are modern and very comfortable, while the common area is from a bygone era, elegant and refined. the breakfast is outstanding and the service was friendly and efficient. Staff are generally very friendly and appear to have a sense of being part of a team. (Very different vibe from the Mount Grace where I stayed last week) I did not have time for the spa on this trip but I did on my last trip and it was personal and excellent. again, for me, a step up from the Mount Grace. My only disappointment on this visit was poor service at Miyoga though the food was outstanding. Altogether, a five star experience !

Thank you very much for your comments Steffen.

The Vineyard is very much a family hotel, owned by a family who are very much part of the daily activity and the team has been together for a number of years. I believe this is what makes the Vineyard special, as returning guests are often well recognised and new guests are noticed.

Well look forward to seeing you back soon.

Warm regards

We stayed at The Vineyard Hotel & Spa in June 2013 for 4 nights. There were 4 adults in our group. We booked through booking.com and got a very good rate which included breakfast. Our check in process was excellent and we were upgraded to the next room category. The concierge service was a nice touch. Our rooms which overlooked the courtyard was beautiful, clean and spacious. The bathroom was very spacious and had both a bath and a good sized shower. Tea / coffee facilities with delicious biscottis were welcome. The turn-down service in the evening was also a nice touch with a chocolate and a bed-time story.. Breakfasts were excellent - extensive selection of fruit, cereals, nut, yoghuts, hot buffet, pastries etc - really indulgent. Did not have the opportunity to try the spa as it was fully booked during the times we were available - had a look around and it is stunning. The hotel property is extensive and the gardens are beautiful and well manicured. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the Cavendish shopping centre which is in close proximity to the hotel. The staff at the front door and desk were welcoming and very professional. We had an enjoyable stay at the Vineyard Hotel and will not hesitate to go back there.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. It’s a pity you did not get to enjoy the Spa, it is well worth the visit, but also hugely popular. Great photo’s too.

Look forward to welcoming you back.

Very pleasant stay. The hotel organised a transfer from the airport which was great. Imraan the chauffeur was exceptionally polite and on time. In future travels I will be asking for him to pick me up.
