I spent a couple of nights here and found it to be a lovely hotel, clean spacious rooms with a great view of the side of Table Mountain from the room. Nice walkable footpath in the garden alongside a small river. Friendly and professional staff together with a location away from the noise and hustle of city centre make this a recommended spot for anyone wanting a starting point for Cape Town tours.

Dear Bernard

So pleased you got to take a walk along the Liesbeek River, so many folks visit us but never get to see the splendour of the path and garden. On your next visit we will happily give you a walking tour of the garden and the local history.

Kind regards

Roy Davies

Stayed here during a recent family vacation and were absolutely thrilled with the entire experience. The setting is in a quiet residential neighborhood with Table Mountain looming in the background, but when you enter the property and go into the back garden area, it is very easy to leave your stress and worries behind. The hotel has an extensive garden that offers a visually-relaxing setting (with little to no ambient noises). We found the lodging to be quite roomy, even with a roll-away bed set up for my daughter (who declared it VERY comfortable, contrary to other beds she has slept on in other hotels). We were also thrilled with the quality of the food. The have an extensive breakfast buffet complete with omelet chef, but you can still order a la carte if you like. But the couple of lunches/dinners we had there really impressed us, with a very good array of dishes, each of which had multiple flavors and weren't simplistic to the point of being boring! Lastly, we found the staff to be VERY helpful, both before and during our trip, especially the front desk/concierge/visitors desk. Would (and already have) HIGHLY recommend the Vineyard for your stay in Cape Town - not only is it a wonderful property, but its location puts you 20 minutes from downtown Cape Town, 15 minutes from the Constantia wine region, a little over an hour from the Cape of Good Hope and about 45 minutes from the Stellenbosch wine region!

Appreciate you taking time to share your experience of the Vineyard. I see we share a passion for wine, so I trust you got to do some wine tasting at the hotel and not just at the farms.

Great photos illustrate the beautiful river setting.

Warm regards

The Vineyard is full of contradictions. On the good side you have beautiful views and gardens and a shopping centre a 10 minute walk away. The pool area serves good food and was uncrowded. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade and the receptionist so modest they never told us on check-in. However, the service levels and amenities vary enormously. The suite was wonderful but the deluxe garden room cramped; not recommended for three children sharing. The WiFi was intermittent (and a one device per room restriction strange) as was the hot water (in the suite) in the mornings. Service levels are highly dependent on the employee, so it's a lottery at breakfast. Sometimes service is impeccable; otherwise you never see the waiter/waitress. I hope the hotel management turn this round.

Dear John

Thank you for your comments and feedback. If you can please message me, I would like to follow up on why we put 3 people in a room as this is not recommended. We do have 8 sets of inter-leading rooms, especially for families.

We are currently sourcing new WiFi options for the hotel as the system we have in can only accommodate 1 user per identifier. The brief we are issuing is to be able to accommodate multiple devices.

Thank you for your comments on service at breakfast, we are focusing on this area.

Regards

Roy Davies

This is the second time we have stayed at The Vineyard and we continue to be impressed. The staff could not be friendlier and the hotel itself is not stuffy or glitzy like some of its bigger competitors. The breakfasts are spectacular, the bar always busy and fun, the pool and Spa are great. Sitting outside in the garden having breakfast looking onto the spectacular garden is a real treat. A couple of negatives: the showers go hot then cold which is frustrating and the shampoo/shower gel bottles are ridiculous -- the are made of hard plastic and its tricky to get anything out of them. One final thing, the hotel is in the lee of Table Mountain and is sometimes cloudy when the rest of Cape Town is sunny

Chose this hotel due to its location near the start of the Two oceans marathon but discovered a gem. It is a haven from th bustle of the city situated 20 minutes drive from the CBD. The hotel offers regular transfers in Mercedes for 25 aus dollars but the surrounding area of Newlands is worth s visit with a large shopping centre 5 minutes walk away.
The hotel itself is very spaces with large gardens to relax In and views of Table Mountain. There are 3 restaurants and a cafe plus a fully equipped gym and 2 swimming pools. You can also indulge in numerous spa treatments.
Would recommend this hotel as part of a vist or to those who have been to Cape Town before and don't w at the bussle of the city centre.

The Vineyard Hotel is one of the best hotels you will find in South Africa. It's service levels are comparative to any 5 star hotel. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The mountain facing rooms are a must, particularly the suites.

The breakfast is something special and one always looks forward to it. Every time I use this hotel, I leave satisfied and relaxed.

Room Tip: Try the mountain facing suites on the first floor, very special.

The Vineyard is an unpretentious hotel that is situated a shrt walk away from the centre of Claremont where there are a number of the major asset managers and so well situated for business. To sit on the patio and look at the mountain in the hotel's beautiful gardens is a great way to wind down a bust day. Walking in the garden is also very interesting.

We stayed in the apartments which have 2 large rooms and so good for two collegues. Also very closeto a well appointed gym and so recommended.

Room Tip: The double rooms are close to the gym. Make sure you are not in the main [art of the hotel too close...
