We stayed at the intercontinental at Jo'burg airport prior to our trip to Mauritius - the hotel was situated right next to the airport and when we arrived in our room there were rose petals, chocolates and a bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon. We had room service for dinner which was great and the breakfast was lovely. The only negative was that in the middle of the night whenever our neighbour put on their tap there was a loud sound which woke us up and caused us to have a bumpy night with little sleep - We notified the hotel in the morning and were offered our dinner for free which was greatly appreciated. We also left our sunglasses in the room and they couriered them to Mauritius. All In all very good service, nice food and would definitely stay again prior to any flight.

Good Evening Greglt and Thank You for taking some time out of your day to post feedback regarding you recent stay with us. If I remember correctly, you were on our Romantic Package and yes, we are so sorry about that noise during the course of the night. I was personally worried that your sunglasses would not make it to Mauritius in time - but surprisingly - they moved very fast and we were so pleased to hear when they arrived safely in your hands. Keep well and we hope to see you for many anniversaries. Regards, Andrew Davidson, General Manager.

I just spent the night before leaving South Africa in this convenient and beautiful property. It's right at the arrivals terminal and you can move you bags using ne of the airport trolleys.

The hotel is luxurious (and costly-- though worth it for the convenience.) You have access to wireless or a business center that is free and accessible with your room card.

The upgraded Executive room I had was huge with everything you could possibly need-- large clean bath and shower, large TV comfortable beds etc.

Staff was always helpful and friendly, making this an above average experience. I'd recommend it anytime if it is possible.

I used the hotel as a base to stay while taking flights to Botswana, Swaziland and Namibia. Being directly outside arrivals it provided an excellent location and avoid the need for really early morning and expensive journeys to and from the airport. For an airport hotel the rooms were some of the best I have ever stayed in. They are comfortable, spacious, well equipped with free wireless internet access. The bathrooms are a good size with separate bath tub and walk-in shower but the only negative is that they are all marble which is very slippery when wet. The room amenities were good with a coffee machine in room, and a good selection of drinks. I had rooms facing the front on the 6th and 3rd floors on the different stays and there was a little plane noise but nothing that was too disturbing. I ate dinner in the the restaurant which was good but a bit pretentious for an airport hotel in my view. You have to ask for the less glitzy menu of ordinary food. Sadly, no time for breakfast so cannot comment. There is a pool and spa but did not have time to try them. The business centre was available 24/7 accessed by your room key and computers and printing facilities were available at no cost! The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stays and took my bags all the way to the check-in counter on my final departure. For a stay at the airport it is a great option and perhaps a welcome treat, however, all this doesn't come cheap.

Our flight got cancelled and the airline was absolutely useless - the Interconti @ JNB helped us survive the horror. So polite, helpful and obliging when we arrived after 1am. Couldn't do enough to help us out - lovely rooms, helpful porters, late checkout, free wifi. Next day, delicious breakfast, staff were a delight; we were really sorry to have to leave so we stayed for lunch too.

Stayed here for 3 nights ( actually still here at time of writing) and are impressed in every facet of the hotel.

Arrived at 6.30 in the morning and was allocated an upgraded room straight away which was greatly appreciated as we had travelled from Sydney via Singapore.

The hotel staff are vey attentive and informative and cater for every requirement you have.

Rooms are very spacious, comfortable and well equipped ( Nespresso machine great addition).

We ate dinner and breakfast at Quills Restaurant each day and was very impressed with the quality and variety of food on offer. As far as prices go this has the be a rather low cost eating venue for a 5 star airport hotel.

We stayed using Priority Cliub points and believe this has to be the best value (points wise) hotel in the IHG brands of hotels.

Heading off to Kruger National Park but also looking forward to returning back to the Intercontinental for 1 night before heading home.

If we are ever fortunate to come back to South Africa then we will definitely stay here again.
