We stayed as most do for one night when needing a hotel near Johannesburg airport. We took the very convenient shuttle to and from the hotel. Check-in at the hotel was fast and polite. The room we had was very nice and breakfast was very good. Overall this was a much better "airport" type hotel than in most cities in the world and we would recommend others stay here.

The rooms are very good, clean and the beds are excellent. The bathroom is fit for an Emperor!! Watch out if you order food! The portions are huge! The menu only has 1 kind of soup, and it came solid and the garlic bread was cold and soggy! The cheese platter is served with processed cheese! Breakfast was good and had a lot of variety. I didn't have dinner at the restaurant so I cannot comment. The SPA has no hairdresser.

Room Tip: I stayed in a Jr Suite and it was excellent.

My wife and I stayed 1 night here on a trip from Kigali to Victoria Falls. I had arranged for us VIP transport as the shuttle was not available at the time of our airport arrival. The VIP transport was excellent, albeit a short trip.

LOCATION:
The hotel is conveniently located near the airport and is very suitable for a short stay.

SERVICE:
The level of service at this hotel is excellent. Throughout our stay, the level of friendliness and service exhibited by various staff members was impressive.

ROOMS:
Our room facing onto the lush grounds at the rear of the hotel. The room itself was clean and had all the amenities that one would require including a humidifier.

DINING:
We only had breakfast and we found the service, food and location to be excellent.

This is a very, very nice hotel that provides a high standard of service and amenities for the weary traveller to prepare you for your next journey.

We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here overnight to catch a flight the next day. The room was fine though I believe this hotel is not new. Lights by the bedside didn't work and maintenance couldn't fix them. Front desk has trouble connecting you to another room...seems things don't always "work" like we are used to in the USA. I guess we are spoiled. But the staff were very gracious and kind and breakfast was very complete and accommodating to all ethic desires. You can have many dinner choices in the food court just across the street where the casino apparently is as well.

This is a nice hotel that has excellent customer service. It is very convenient to the Casino – is in the complex. Security is excellent. Because it is attached to the Casino there are many options for restaurants. Their breakfast buffet is extensive and very well done. Almost anything you could want. We did not eat dinner there – we went into the Casino complex. We felt the rooms were just a bit on the small side having stayed at the Metcourt Suites on a previous visit. We were not sure how it received a 5 star rating – four perhaps.

There is a bus stop for the Gau Train right outside (if you have a train card) and the bus takes you to the nearby train station at a much cheaper cost than taking the train from the airport. This is handy if you want to shop at other locations such as Rosebank or to go to Sandton. There is a shuttle bus to and from the airport every 20 minutes during most of the day which is very convenient.

The rooms are excellent condition. The staff was gracious and accommodating. We stayed two nights in the king executive room (Rm 2101) and in one night in a room on the club floor. The executive room is worth the extra space. There is a loveseat sitting area next to the bed. The regular room is about 20% smaller. The club level has expected benefits in the Concierge Lounge: breakfast, evening appetizers and drinks included. Free WiFI is included for all rooms which was a great benefit for keeping in touch with family, on-line check-in and uploading photos from safari. The casino and emporium area has similar theme to Caesar's Palace in Vegas. Just on a smaller scale. So if you like Vegas like we do, this is a nice transition after a long flight.

We used the free shuttle to get back and forth from the airport. The hotel shuttle depot is located past the vodaphone shop, the car rental counters, and the intercontinental hotel. For the shuttle, D'Oreale is the last stop for arrivals and the first stop for departures. The drivers were courteous and accommodating. It would be a good idea to have back up for the drivers during busy times. On Saturday nights, the shuttle was also used by people with layovers to get to the casino which didn't leave much room for hotel guests. So we had to wait for a second shuttle and "battle" for a space on the return. When we left Friday morning, the shuttle was filled up with guests before getting to the final stop.

Room Tip: 2101 is near the elevator. We had to move from one room at the end of the hall because it was near...

We stayed on the fourth floor same room really quiet room twice, next to suite. Non smoking floor.
The main restaurant for breakfast had a huge variety of different nationality food.
The staff were helpful and courteous.
We had dinner in same area twice, one a buffet and the other a la carte. The service was exceptional and the food delicious all prepared and decorative. Meat tender and well cooked. Love pumpkin soup here.
The shower head in bath kept falling off on to our ankles, when we moved out quickly. Told reception, but when we came back week later, it still was not fixed. So told reception it could hit a smaller person on the head. Within the hour it was fixed.

Over all a very pleasant stay in this splendiferous resort!
