Spent 2 nights here on a break from a business trip to Johannesburg. Got an all inclusive deal with wi-fi, dinner, bed and breakfast for $170/night direct from the peermont website.

Check-in was very smooth, good car parking and well appointed lobby. Room was very comfortable and met 5 star standards. High quality toiletries in bathroom, plenty of closet space, good range of television stations and nice view over casino gardens and hotel pool.

Hotel restaurant was very good, although couldn't dine outdoors on the pation at night due to bugs. Good menu range and very nice food. Good selection of wines.

Hotel has an internal corridor to the casino, which has a great range of bars and restaurants. News Cafe and Hooters were good bards for a beer and it was hard to choose from the range of quality cuisines.

Arrived at hotel at 3.30pm checked in went to our room, which was not ready. We waited in the passage whilst they cleaned and restocked. Our dinner reservation was not booked, although this was confirmed via email a few days prior to us arriving. Service at Greek restaurant was shocking and filthy. Sunday morning went down for breakfast and we were told that there is a 30 minute wait. Totally unacceptable if you are staying at the hotel. Front desk staff told us that they are always busy on Sundays and confirmed this was a regular problem, but nothing has been done to change this. Very disappointed considering we paid a lot of money to stay in a so called 5 star hotel

We also stayed here on transit between safari. Shuttle collected us from arrivals. First time in Jo'burg so was obviously concerned about dallying around the arrivals waiting for a shuttle but we had no hassle and the shuttle was fast and safe. (do keep a few rand handy though in case some airport staff insist on helping with luggage - they are quite persistent!)

Check in was fast. We were on our honeymoon and when we arrived at our room there was a bottle of bubbly chilling and rose petals strewn over the bed. Yes it's kitsch but we liked it.

Dined in the restaurant that evening - tasty offering and was reasonably priced for a 5 star. Service was mediocre but we were in no rush - it was the start of our honeymoon after all.

Room was spacious but there was an issue with the bathroom sink - slight blockage but we didn't bother reporting it.

Breakfast the morning after was included and quite nice. No complaints. All in all a relaxing way to kick start the honeymoon.

Room Tip: if on honeymoon ensure to let hotel know in advance. Bubbly and rose petals in room :)

Stayed here for a total of 5 nights over a period of two weeks. Staff were really friendly and remembered me from the previous stays. Nice breakfast and nice pool area - wasn't expecting this as the hotel is situated pretty close to the airport and in and industrial type area. Easy access to the casino area and there are a number of pretty good restaurants to choose from if you don't wish to eat at the hotel, though the restaurant at the hotel is pretty nice. Shuttle service to and from the airport which runs every 20 minutes or so. Price pretty reasonable if you are paying in $.

The spa is quite nice and the staff there are really friendly and willing to show you around so you can see what facilities the spa has to offer.

Pleasantly surprised regarding the hotel. Will stay here again as its really convenient for an overnight or short stay.

We stayed at the D'Oreale Grande Hotel on both the way in and way out of Australia for our South African visit. What a great way to get over the jetlag!!! We spent a few hour at the Spa and Gym both sides of the trip and it was just what we needed to get over the 15+ hours travel time. They even allowed us to check out late with no extra cost.

Last visit we stayed at a hotel in the airport and while this was convenient, very limited in options for food and entertainment. Emperor's Palace had so many more options for meals, relaxation and entertainments. After sampling the breakfast offerings at the hotel restaurant, we could not go past the variety and quality. We ended up eating at the hotel restaurant for all our meals and even had complimentary wine on our last night!!!

Overall great value for money for all accommodation, meals and drinks.

When we visit South Africa again, we will definately use D'Oreale Grande Hotel as our luxury stopover.

We stayed here overnight in early September after a very light flight from Australia. At that time I had read some pretty average reviews but wasn't overly concerned as it was overnight before flying out on Safari.
Well I was so surprised. I understand that the hotel recently changed management and boy does it show. Our check-in process was flawless. All the staff were wonderful, so helpful after nearly 24 hours of travel. They upgraded our room to a suite which was perfect as I woke up at 3am. I was able to go out to the TV room and watch TV so as not to wake my husband who amazingly slept until 7am. Breakfast was another wonderful suprise. I could not believe the selection and the quality of the food. Normally I steer clear of the hot buffet as the food looks pretty dry and is mostly cold. Not here. It was the first place I went.
We are coming back to South Africa in April and can't wait to stay here again while we take a couple of days exploring the city. Thank you so much for making our first taste of South Africe simply outstanding!

A beautiful pool area and garden. Great casino and shopping mall with lot's of restaurants in same complex.
All in all a great Hotel
