My husband and I spent a night here on our way to Zanzibar in this hotel near the airport. The staff were very helpful. They organised the shuttle for us very early in the morning, they took us to Hatfield to take the Gautrain into town as it's is much cheaper than taking it from the airport, they were in general very helpful. Our room was clean and spacious with nice beddings but when we were there WiFi was quite slowt. We had drinks at the bar and dinner at the restaurant. The bar is fine but the restaurant is very basic. All in all, a place to recommend if you're in transit.

Booked this hotel for one night due to last minute cancellation (not my error) whilst the problem was being re-solved. Reception allowed me to check in early and where very helpful. Free wi-fi worked well.

Room was not very clean especially the bathroom. Shuttle can run even out of scheduled time which is a bonus if needed. Quite dusty as well in wardrobes and cupboards. Had international plugs installed but a bit to near the counter making it difficult to plug.

Telephone from the rooms where not working could not make external calls.
Did I say that is was not cleaned well, especiallythe bathroom.

Nice pool but was not in use which was a shame.

I was very impressed with The Aviator, first and foremost with the free shuttle to and from the airport. Knowing Africa time, I was concerned that it would be late, but it runs like clockwork every half an hour. The drivers are friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The room was spacious and very clean and neat. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the bedding was spotless.
The hotel is within walking distance of a small shopping centre, where you can get a variety of items.
The breakfast has a good variety and the staff are always on hand to check that the patrons are satisfied.
The pool looked very inviting, but since it was winter I did not brave the cold water!

Room Tip: ask for a view of the pool :)

We stayed here for one night whilst in transit to Mozambique and that was enough.
The place is convenient if you don't want to go and come back to Johannesburg but certainly not a place I'd stay two nights in a row.
The room is OK, fairly comfortable and clean and the breakfast decent.
Service is slack - we waited for 40mins for our shuttle from the airport and didn't even get an apology and guess what - on the way to the airport we also had to wait 30 mins! luckily we had learnt our lesson and had booked it with plenty of time.

The good - the rooms are clean, nice decor, free wifi and great buffet breakfast.

The bad - incompetent shuttle service that had us waiting for 50 minutes in the cold at 11pm despite sending through our flight details in advance; a glass door to the bathroom with a frosted window into the shower from the bedroom (what the?! Makes for an awkward stay with friends)

Overall - if you're after a no-hassle, convenient airport stay this isn't it. Cheaper hotel with clean rooms and revealing bathrooms yes it is.
