Description: The Troyeville has been serving award winning Portuguese food for decades. We pride ourselves on sourcing the best ingredients and cooking them simply and deliciously. Our menu and wine list can be found on our web site. Our blackboard is full of special dishes that are inspired by the market. We often feature several different fish and prawn dishes.

I have frequented the Troyeville for years and have seen the changes as it adapts its personality to meet the needs of its' clientele, both new and those who are regulars.

We recently enjoyed dinner there after a Lions rugby match and it proved to be excellent as always. Service and atmosphere were superb. I had a Lamb Shank, which was outstanding...and one of our party had the 'best steak he had ever eaten!".

Last week, we popped into the Troyeville for a business lunch and each of our group ordered the Feijoada, a Brazilian Portuguese stew with pork, sausage and beans. It was mouth watering.

In addition to the tasty cuisine, great atmosphere and first class service, customers can park at the rear of the hotel in an area manned by security. It is very safe and secure.

I recommend the Troyeville highly and commend Laurence and his staff for their continued excellence.

Now why don't you try the Troyeville yourself? You wont regret it

Haloumi starter was very nice, but prawns, both LM and Indian were mediocre, sauces lacked flavour, and, to the non prawn eater in our party, the Trinchado was just average. A great disappointment to us prawn lovers, as we were looking forward to a genuine Portuguese prawn feast.

Close to Ellis Park, the Troyville makes sense for a great pre, or post game meal and drink(s). But there is so much more to the place - great views of the inner city - an awesome Portuguese/Madeira/Mozambique kitchen (makes Callisto's and Adega look pale and flabby) - a variety of venues (inside, bar, terrace - they will even do an event on the roof if their are enough people!). Great for a midweek bite; Friday lunch with work colleagues; or Sunday lunch with all the different families comming for good food and good times.

Been there twice in the space of a few days. The food is top-class and the variety will please everyone. In particular the Halloumi cheese starter with the pesto and the prawn curry is worth a second and third visit. They have now also started a weekly book club upstairs, Max du Preez was the guest when we attended. Top class and will be great if they keep up the standard. Very reasonable price which includes their great snacks. Don't be fooled by the area. There is parking out front and the security guards are vigilant.

Great spot out back for family Sunday lunches and evenings for tasty Portugese food. Atmosphere is great and relaxed.
