This place never disappoints. Great curries and tandoori dishes in a fantastic setting. One of the few Indian restaurants i've found with "ambiance". Their Tandoori Spatchcock Chicken is always a winner

Always a good choice for Indian. Food is full of flavour without being overpowering. Service is not bad, but could be better. Great value for money. Give it a try, you will like it.

I have been to Ghazal several times and have generally liked the food very much. There is no doubt that, on the whole, it is a solid choice and will not by and large disappoint. I was there on a recent Sunday night and, although by around 20:00 the restaurant had drawn a reasonably big crowd of locals and foreign Indians (ususally a good sign), I was a little disappointed. The starter platter for one, consisting of two different chicken pieces, a samoosa, a bajan and a chilli bite, was all right, the cauliflkower/pea/potato curry was mediocre but passable; the lamb curry conatined good quality meat (no excess gristle or fat) but was not really very tasty, and the yellow dal was very good indeed. We did not try the naans and the basmati rice was good. What disappointed me was the lack of attention to specific client requests and to detail in general. No pickles except lime. We asked for a small portion of the dal as a side dish but were refused and so had to order the full portion which was not really warranted. Wine list fairly good and well priced. Ambience rather dark and dreary. Service was good on the whole. I would visit again but not in a rush. The place lacks that 'wow' factor which I have experienced at Bukhara in Cape Town.

It's the best and that's it. We have been coming here for years and have introduced many friends to Ghazal who always return. The service is good and the food is just superb. The spice is there and there is a large selection. Favourite is the prawn korma with nan bread....can't get enough. The venue is very appealing and mixes new with old. Worth the drive from anywhere in JHB, you will not be disspointed.
