Catch the Jozi vibe in Soweto! Don't be fooled into thinking that this a dangerous place to visit! You'll be missing out! The people and atmosphere in the old shanty town just rocks! Start off with a walk in the Bara Market! The prices you pay here for the beautiful beaded jewellery, arts and crafts will have you smiling to the bank! The fruit and veg are fresh and if you want catch a chicken or two! Move onto the Orlando Towers. If you are brave enough catch a bungee jump from the top but if you want a clear view of the township then just take the 100m cage ride up and enjoy this view! It is an experience to be remembered! Enjoy an ice cold Hunters Gold - my kindda drink- at Chaf Pozi or catch the delicious looking traditional meal they serve! We didn't have time for this yesterday but we sure will be back! Pass the Walter Sisulu Gardens in Kliptown and see where our Constitution was founded! Be serenaded by a gentlemen there who will charm you to the tunes of Bra Hugh Masekela, Mirriam Makheba, the South African anthem and much more! Move on to spend some time in the Credo Mutwa Village and catch the story of the shanties! The Regina Mundi Church will provide you with an incredible story of how the church has contributed to our liberation struggle! The whose who of the world has been there! See for yourself! Hector Pieterson Museum and Mandela House is a must to the Soweto Visitor! Catch then township vibe in vibrant Vilakazi Street and end your day with super meal a d drinks at Sakhumi's or any other of the lekker restaurants in the area! An appeal to all South Africans take a Sho't left to catch the Soweto vibe! You won't be disappointed! To our international guest place this on your to do list when visiting our beautiful country!

Even though there is poverty in these townships, but people there are always friendly to one another and they are always willing to help especially if they see there you are not from their area.

Soweto is a fantastic place to visit as either a South African or as a visitor to our country. The vibe is outstanding but I believe that whether you are from SA or not one should take a tour so that you don't get into a compromising position. There is no vibe like the SOWETO VIBE.

How can anybody not be disappointing. You must be mad to even think of going into one of the townships or squatter camps

Our trip to Soweto started with a drive around the newer buildings. We then went to the older part and saw the Tin houses people were made to live in during 'apartheid'. This was shocking to see. We stopped off at Regina Mundi church and had a wonderful tour. We also visited Nelson Mandelas' house and had a tour of that.

After we went to the Hector Pieterson memorial and museum. This provides a fascinating insight into the uprising in 1976.

It was nothing like i expected, its like a mini city, with its own universities, KFC standing proudly amongst street vendors, barbers cutting peoples hair on the side of the road....

Unbelievable!
