Tallest building in the City gives you some great views but not a great deal of specific interest. With the exception of consitution hill Joburg centre deos not offer a great deal in my opinion.

Every time friends and family arrive from overseas, first thing we do is go up to the top of the Carlton building , it has a great 360 view of Johannesburg that allows for a quick visual explanation of the city and its history. Its especially great for when people are just passing by the city for a day or a few hours. Park under the old ice rink and go under the road to the adjacent building.

Top of Africa is the 50th Floor of Carlton Centre in Joburg, South Africa. Cost - 15 Rand. It has a spectacular view from the top and you can see almost all the city's panoramic view from right one place. There are some binoculars placed there through which you can probably see a part of the city enlarged. There were a lot of Satyagrah pics on the walls of the Top of Africa - Gandhi ji all around!

It is a very quiet place with a peaceful kind of tranquility in it even if it is inside a building.

The huge door is a little squeaky and I miscalculated the force required to shut it while going out. It went shut with a crashing sound. Very embarrassing when people have gone to enjoy amazing views in a little quiet place!

I have heard the sunset view is the best. But I could not stay back for it as had to catch a flight back home. But try going for sunset to make the best of your trip.

Apart from that, I didnt find the Carlton Centre very interesting.

Great views but the area is less than desirable. Good shopping but area is rundown a bit, had to use two different elevators heading in. A touch on the dirty side but okay. Go for the views -only-!

Love going up to the Top Of Africa for its great view. Photographers heaven. With the parking was a bit easier to find.
