“One of the better Indian restaurants in Johannesburg.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013

Sitar is a good Indian restaurant nestled away in one of the far corners of the Cresta Shopping Mall near Randburg.
Decent location, good food, good service and good value for money.
Would not recommend a trip out there just for this, but if you are in the area - you could a lot worse than Sitar.

“Large variety of Indian dishes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

Situated in an upmarket shopping mall, with plenty of paid undercover and free open parking, this restaurant offers a variety of seating and meal options.
We were warmly welcomed and, from a choice of outdoor patio, inside and private dining sections,we opted for one of the private dining areas which accomodates 4 other tables.
Fully licenced, the comprehensive menu includes starters and salads under R30,a selection of vegetarian, lamb, biryani and seafood courses,in the main under R70,excluding seafood, which just over R100 is very reasonable.
Sweets and cocktails are also offered, averaging R35 each.
The pappadum and Naan garlic bread was a welcome supplement to our drinks which arrived promptly.
The boneless lamb briyani and lentil rogan josh was plentiful and delicious enhanced with fresh coriander.
Not having any space for sweets we took the remainder of our meals with us.
Service was efficient and discreet with the owner popping by to greet and welcome us as fairly regular patrons.
Most cards are an acceptable form of payment.
A rewarding value for money venue.
