“Wonderful day trip to Pilansberg”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

I left my organisation of my trip til the day before, but Susan and Glen went out of their way to accommodate my requirements - needed to get back to Jo'burg for my evening flight home and had to bring luggage on the trip.

The journey to Pilansberg was a pleasure. Glen was extremely friendly and gave us the lowdown on virtually everything we came across. The park itself is wonderful; big enough so you could get lost, but compact enough to see everything comfortably. Only things we didn't see were the elusive cats. Our guide on the safari was equally friendly and knowledgeable.

All in all a fabulous day! Can't wait to return!!

Hi Pj, It was a pleasure to take you to Pilanesberg and thank you for taking the time to post this review, much appreciated. We often need to make last minute arrangements as normally our guests are on a business trip like yourself and don't know until the day before. I am glad we could get you back to the airport in time for your flight. If we show you all the animals on your first visit you will not come back so now you need to come back to see the Lions.

“Trustworthy and unforgettable”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

We booked Go Safari through the Internet, and the communication was clear and stress-free. Glen met us at dawn at Jo'burg airport and drove us to Kruger National Park, stopping at beautiful spots and pit stops on the way. Glen filled the journey with interesting cultural and historical commentaries. The man was a walking encyclopaedia; he answered all our random questions fully. The safari lodge in Kruger that they recommended, the Mohlabetsi, was one of our best vacation experiences. The staff was well trained and sincere, the lodge was comfortable and beautiful, and the food was fantastic. Glen also thoughtfully brought along binoculars for us, which was much appreciated during the safari drives. When we return to Jo'burg, Glen made sure we continued to have a good time, by recommending other good and value-for-money day trips with their partners. Thank you, Glen and Susan, for making our trip so unforgettable!

Thank you for taking the time and posting such a positive review and compliments. I am glad you enjoyed the Kruger Park safari and your stay at Mohlabetsi and that we could help make this a memorable vacation. It is a lodge we use as much as we can due to the location, good service an food as you say. I was a pleasure meeting you and taking you to the Kruger Park and a hope I have the pleasure of meeting you again.

“Pure Satisfaction”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

We contacted Go Safari ,amongst other last minute requesting an airport pick up and a two day safari with a return to j'berg. Glen was extremely responsive , offered different options with clearly stated costs (we knew from the get go what included and what was not.

Glen met us at the terminal , dove us to the park reserve at Pilanesburg in a clean air conditioned SUV which was approx 2 hours away. On the way we stopped for a short time. At the usual curiosity' small mall. No pressure to purchase. Glen was a wealth of knowledge on the way up. He shared history , geography etc . very interesting. Glen had. Recommended that we stay at the Shepards Tree. Slightly more expensive but well worth the additional cost. The rooms were immaculate and well cleaned every morning. So very quite but no TVs or other intertainment. Internet free but intermittent. Let me warn you BRING WARM CLOTHES INCLUDING GLOVES AND HATS, The first safari starts at 5'30" It is cold in the jeep . Jeep holds approx 10" Tour lasts approx 3 hours. You get very close to the animals. We saw 4 of t He big 5 in 4 tours. One is not enough. The guides are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It was so much fun and exciting. We saw lions being amorous and then have the lioness go hunt for them (men don't drool). We saw one of the few remaining black rhino. Thrills still run through me at the experience.

I eat out probably 2/3 times a week , generally in the higher end restaurants. The food and presentation at the Shepard Tree lodge was nothing short splendid . The staff could not help enough. They were so friendly and were not looking for tips. My Internet went down . Unasked for they came to help . I cannot say too much good things about this lodger.i am not easily impressed. Just stay there. Have great pictures of all sorts of animals. Provided you stay in the jeep they do not seem to mind. I would go again (note you pay for drinks outside the package but they were extremely economical). We had no surprises. Thank you staff

With tHe Safari ended , Glenn's wife Sue picked us up. Again great sharing of information but more so Abbott the people , the local area and the living standards. What a lovely couple that clearly enjoy what they are doing. Would most definitely recommend to my best friends,

Hi Martin
Thank you for the long and great review, I appreciate it and the time taken to post it. You are correct it is definitely worth paying a little more to get a better "safari"experience and accommodation. For a short visit Pilanesberg is great as as you experienced you did get to see 4 out of the Big 5 - on your next visit to SA we will have to arrange a safari to the Kruger Park. Thank you once again for the great review.
Glen & Susan.

“Great day trip if you are in Joburg and only have time for a quick safari”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Go Safari was great. Communication before the tour was excellent, pick up was on time, tour guide was very friendly and full of information. Stop at the market was a bit touristy, and you could find the same stuff at the airport stores for about the same price! But an experience to have. Lunch was great, and the scenery from lunch was really nice. Good clean bathrooms before the safari.

The Safari was a lot of fun, but as it got later in the day, we didn't see too many animals. We were told that's because of the time of year, June. So if you go in winter, take lots of pictures early.

I hope to be able to go on a multi-day Safari into one of the bigger parks on a future trip to South Africa, and would definitely use Go Safari again. And I have already recommended them to some colleagues who are going to South Africa for business.

Hi Rob, thank you for the review and for taking the time to post it, much appreciated. The "night drive" is always tricky, you are limited to only seeing what the spotlights pick up so you do see less and pictures difficult to take. But this is when the loins are more active, so if you see lions then it is worth it. Thank you for referring us to your colleagues and look forward to arranging a longer safari for you. Glen.

“The Warmest Hospitality”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Susan Findlay was our transportation to Pilanesberg. She did an excellent job of sharing her stories, educational anecdotes, and answering our wandering questions. I really enjoyed our afternoon together! Both Glen and Susan organized our safari and accommodations at Bakubung Bush Lodge- where we just had the best time!
We were very luck and ended up seeing many of the animals on our safari. I would suggest doing an evening and morning safari.. and we were satisfied with only two rides out in the park.
I would suggest Go Safari to tourists both looking to plan something unique/personal preference and a get-a-way of standard sights and visits.

Dear MelH, thank you for the great review and taking time to post it. It is always better to stay overnight and do more than one safari, this does increase your chances of seeing something special. I am glad you enjoyed your visit to Pilanesberg and now you need to go to the Kruger Park during your next visit to SA.
