“You have try it once”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

A good late Sunday morning / early afternoon trip. As other reviewers say, there are lots of stalls with foods and drinks galore. Drinks run the gamut of teas, coffees, juices, hard and soft alcohol, and even coconut water out of the freshly cut coconuts . Lots of 20-somethings chose this their hang-out spot for today. Perfect environment to meet old and new friends.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

What a hidden in gem in the heart of this seedy part of Johannesburg. There is safe parking outside and once inside the market you are in another world... it's an assault on the senses with all the delicious tastes, smells and wonderful looking food from around the world on offer! A great place to go for a Sunday morning brunch... only open on Sundays...get there early because it's a bit crowded later in the day. Only negative is that I found some of the stalls very pricy! I would've bought so much more to take home if it had been more affordable.

“Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

Hidden away, you could almost mIss it if you didnt notice it. Situated in what appears to be an old warehouse the market feels like a truly authentic part of Jo'burg and far more real than the countless shopping malls in the city.

It's the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning so make sure you don't have breakfast before you go. There are so many different foods to choose from, Thai, Mexican, Chinese and Indian are just a few of the cuisines you can sample here! You can ea hot food and buy things to take home with you.

There is also a wonderful range of shops here that sell unusual gifts, fashions and one of the best bookshops I've ever seen! Outside on the terrace you can eat at a fantastic restaurant called Canteen if you decide to spend a little longer here, you can even do salsa classes on Sunday afternoons!

This place is truly a jem and. Fantastic placevto spend time in!

“MUST SEE!”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

What a cool place! I wish it was there when I attended Art school, a mere block away from Mielle & Hoofd strs! If ur in Joburg, whether visiting passing by or living there u better go in! Theres a variety of yummy organic exotic foods, drinks and snacks as well as quirky arty, crafty and vintage stores! The mix of people is so eclectic! If you're wondering what Jozi is all about, then go there! The coolest thing there is the long tables stacked together and u get to sit and eat amongst the most interesting, artsy, friendly and random people!
go now! see u there! ;)

“Great way to spend a sunday morning”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Part of revival of the inner city, a mixture of clothing, jewellery stores, art and photographic galleries, food and drink. This is a cool place and a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

- Authentic Jozi.
- Easy to get to and for those still concerned about personal safety - its safe.

So forget all the paranoid comments, the claims of this is like Cape Town and get down to the city, and on the way back go to Newtown and enjoy the Jozi vibe

BTW Jozi = Johannesburg.
