What a different meal!! These guys try to do something different and really pull it off. It's like going to the theatre where the actors are the cooks and the audience contributes their taste buds. Liked bringing own wine (as it is expensive) but really worth the experience. I hope these guys continue to innovate, change the menu and continue to explore the boundaries. My wife was afraid that it would be off the wall (goat, organs etc) but it was not - just great ingredients melded into fascinating and ultimately delicious sensations. A must for the adventurous!

Four friends went to Cube for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Personally I was doubtful as I was a firm fan of Dario's Yum; plus have been fortunate to experience the emerging trend of tasting menu's at the Greenhouse, Test Kitchen, Myoga (all Cape Town) and Roots (Outside JHB central). However I was not disappointed. The 11 courses create a natural progression (far better achieved then Myoga) and everything contained surprises and "wow" aspects. Each person was responsible for a bottle of wine (so smaller tables won't be able to draw as much on wine paring) and we had a lovely unpretentious evening. I would recommend groups of 6-8 where wine parings can be savoured along with the delightful dishes expertly explained by the chefs. Seating is limited so book ahead, and the evening lasts from 7:30pm to at least 10:00pm. An expensive evening but well worth it - even the street-side parking is fine.

The concept behind this restaurant is a novel experience of food and if you are a Foodie, you will be intrigued. It is obvious that the food does entail a huge amount of work , the presentation , sometimes tongue -in-cheek , is a nice touch. Most of the dishes is enjoyable . However , the new venue , where we were placed , is NOT suitable for this kind of food experience and gives a very unpalatable taste to the whole experience.
