This was my second time at Thomas Maxwell, and being winter, this was a great choice. We had a table near the Kitchen, by the fire which was super cosy. The restaurant was full as always, and service was great.

The food was delicious, which together with a bottle of vino made for a great romantic dinner.

Food was very good. The most memorable was the mussels and chips, beautifully done. We also ordered the crayfish pasta, which was very nice. My friend's favorite was dessert. She had the roasted marshmallows covered in warm chocolate.

This restaurant has grown to three interleading shops in somewhat seedy row. Clearly popular it was full despite the wintry Saturday night. The ambiance is pleasant, with an open kitchen, exposed brick and a working fireplace, but a table in the entrance shop could be drafty.
Whilst the service was reasonable, the food was inconsistent. An excellent ( albeit very rich ) crayfish pasta, and a mushroom risotto were balanced by a dish of hard and tasteless fish cakes. The deep fried zucchini starter was soggy ( try Assagi for excellent deep fried courgettes )
The complimentary cupcakes were a nice touch but stale.
There is a good wine list.
The overall experience did not match the prices.

The Mussels are a must to try! Best served with Brut champagne ;). They are available as a starter or as a main course. Delicious!

The menu is interesting and different and the cuisine is beautifully presented. The fillet melted in my mouth and allthough I was a littleperturbed by the wasabi butter all the flavours blended together with a delectable subtlety. Definitely worth another visit.
