Liedjiesbos - what a pleasant surprise. We were on our way back from Eastern Cape - our last stop. Henning one of the owners welcomed us with warm coffee and homemade milk tart. Our room was stunning and very romantic. The food was delicious and he spent a lot of time talking to us about his home-made jams. We bought some of his mouth-watering home-made jams!!! The architectural designed home and stunning indigenous garden - a rare find. Thank you! We will be back soon!!

An exquisite resting place for any traveler – weary or not. Filled with tranquil birdsong (as the name suggests); stunning indigenous garden (with surprise sculptures), overlooked from a welcoming stoep; mouth-watering meals (prepared with lots of own-grown veggies and love); gorgeous rooms; striking attention to detail. The art-loving owners have mastered the perfect balance between being ‘unseen’ and ‘at service’. Bloemfontein is blessed with this facility.

We have stayed at Liedjiesbos. We saw a TV program on how they used an old barn and renovate it into this modern guest house. The garden is indigenous plants and get the water form a borehole. At first when we booked in there was a mistake with our room they gave us a different room as booked but it was quickly rectified. The room was spacious and lovely decorated in antic furniture with white linen. The bathroom had a big oval bath and a his and hers shower. Very romantic with candles and flowers and everything that you need was there. The coffee/tea tray was fully stocked and there was a mini bar with water, wine etc. A welcome "hertzog koekie" was a treat with our coffee. The hot chocolate was a lovely suggestion from Henning and we enjoyed it late evening. Before we went to bed we enjoyed a sherry on the stoep. The best for last the next morning we enjoyed the rusks that was provided on the tray with the coffee it was fresh, crispy and very nice. We went for breakfast and was served a lovely fruit and yogurt parfait followed with a bacon and eggs with homemade preserves. When we left Henning gave us a packet of rusks to take with after I told him I enjoyed it so much. We had a great experience and we can definitely recommend Liedjiesbos.

What a perfect start to our holiday and definitely a spot we would visit again, hands down!

Our room was beautifully decorated and clean with lovely attention to detail wherever you looked. From the amazing array of home grown pumpkins adorning the patio table to the quirky and tasteful decor in the main living/ dining area, we almost didn't want to leave.

Henning was a wonderful host and we couldn't imagine the place without him, in fact this was the most inviting guest house we have stayed at in a very long time.

Everything you could ever need/want is here in the beautiful Eco friendly "paradise"
Our beautiful room was around the back of the main house completely private we thoughly enjoyed every minute we were there. Our host Henny could not do enough for us or any of the other guests and the gardens are planted with indigenous species and they support the slow food movement which means that all there proud is locally sourced. Because we stayed on the weekend we missed their evening meal as they only cook through the week but there are many eating places very nearby which we enjoyed also.
They also have wi fi.

Thankyou guys for a wonderful stay and for...you know what Hennyx

We stayed for the weekend And we Loved every single minute and highly recommend it to anyone! Breakfast was top quality and we felt very welcome. The Rooms were very comfortable and the kgwedi room is the most private.

Room Tip: The kgwedi room is more private than the others.
