Sandriver Lodge

My husband and i stayed at the sandriver lodge for 3 nights. I thought our room was beautifully decorated: in a rustic beachy style and there was a very peaceful atmosphere to the place. The breakfast was very tasty and the owers and staff were very friendly. We would definately visit again.

We stayed for 5 nights at Sandriver Lodge and had a great time! The rooms are spacious and have good standard and a nice atmosphere. Location is perfect - some minutes walk from a fantastic beach and beside the square with restaurants and some stores, including grocery stores. For the kids it was a perfect place as they could enjoy the garden to play at + the beach. The very best part is the nice hosts - Anneke and Mark. They are very friendly, supportive and easy going! Family feeling.

Thanks for 5 fantastic days!!

Me and my partner were very upset with the kind of service we got from Sandriver lodge. One of the most basic things people need is toilet paper - we stayed there for 6 nights and we did not get toilet paper put in our room once. I had to go to Anneke or Mark every day and ask for toilet paper ( I even had to go one morning in my pajamas ).You would think that if you go to the owners 3 consecutive times to ask for the same thing - that they would speak to the cleaner who cleans your room and make sure that she does not slip up again.Anneke only spoke to the cleaner the day before we left - after I had to go to Anneke and ask Anneke to speak to her cleaner. We also did not get any coffee / tea / sugar/milk replacements in our room - the same as with the toilet paper - you have to go and ask for it every day. I am just upset at the price we had to pay for this type of service - I mean , we go to Dullstroom quite often and stay at the Duck and Trout - we pay a 1/4 of the price we paid per night at Sandriver lodge , and we get toilet paper + coffee+ tea+milk put in our room every day. Why is Sandriver lodge skimping on guests so much? We chose the B&B option, not self catering? To top it all off - we had some clothing items stolen at Sandriver lodge : I did address this with Anneke, to which she replied that she trusts her staff. If you can’t even trust your staff to replace toilet paper /tea/coffee/milk or sugar - how can you trust your staff not to steal guests clothes? I also did not appreciate this feedback from Anneke, cause my clothes was stolen and the least they could do was to reimburse me for the stolen items. Not tell me that they trust their staff.

This comment really upset us with its dishonest content.
Sandriver lodge is our passion and all guests are treated with the same love and respect, by owners and staff. Great care is taken in servicing and replenishing amenities in all our rooms.
We hope and trust that other reviews will tell future guests the truth about Sandriver Lodge... travel safe

We stayed with Anneke and Marc for 3 nights and found the quaint fishermans cottages more than comfortable and well equipped.Marc took Kevin on an amazing deep sea fishing trip whereafter we ' braaied" (a south african barbeque) the catch!
The breakfast served on the terrace was delicious.
Sandriver Lodge is perfectly situated with a 2 minute walk to the beach and a short drive to some very good restaurants in the harbour.
All round a jolly good find.

Hidden behind a long white wall, Sandriver Lodge is a friendly, cosy B & B. Anneke is the friendliest hostess who really made us feel at home. The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk from the beach one way and shops & restaurants the other way. The rooms, located in various buildings in the grounds, are large, nicely decorated and comfortable - the only improvement that could be made is the double bed - comfy but a little too narrow. We had an excellent breakfast on the patio. In short, well worth spending a night or two here.
