Kayenta Monument Valley Inn
Ranked #3 of 4 Hotels in Kayenta

With some apprehension, we booked this hotel for its convenient location near the Monument Valley. Reviews had been mixed, with comments about a lack of cleanliness, and discourteous service. Pleasantly surprised however. Good reception at front desk, very clean rooms, and courteous and prompt service in the restaurant. The only complaint was the dinner in the restaurant. Food was disappointing.
Location for the hotel is unappealing, good as a stop-over enroute to a destination. As far as the room location, look for something facing out the rear to the hills. You're overlooking the parking lot, but it's quieter than facing the highway out the front.

I recently stayed at the Kayenta Monument Valley Inn because the Hampton was sold out. Although it was very average, it was very clean, comfortable and the staff was very nice. The hotels restaurant was staffed by friendly people who were prompt with their service. The food was good and hot as well.

We had one night here at the end of Sept as part of our travels round the Western States and National Parks. We spent the afternoon and evening in Monument Valley itself (and had a meal of Navajo Tacos with the Navajos). As we'd been mainly camping, it was a pleasure to sleep in a bed for a night.

The room had one double bed, an adequately sized bathroom and coffee making facilities. As we arrived quite late, and had already eaten, we didn't use any of the facilities (pool, fitness suite, laundry) and enjoyed room instead. There is a TV with some cable channels but we didn't watch it.

We had breakfast in the restaurant. I opted for coffee and oatmeal, my other half had the buffet. Food was adequate and cheaper than some other places we'd stayed. Staff in the restaraunt were friendly and helpful.

Though a bit more expensive than we hoped, but the choices in town are limited! The room was very large and beds were very comfortable. We ate at the restaurant because we arrived late and were very hungry. My friend enjoyed her stew, but the vegetarian options for me left something to be desired.

The young lady at reception was friendly enough. The room/bathroom was spacious and well furnished, if a little old fashioned. We were at the rear of the hotel on the upper floor, so it was very quiet. We also had a good view of the nearby cliffs. Owing to the recent negative reviews of the restaurant we decided to avoid it. The wi-fi signal was excellent (4/5 bars). The relatively high price reflects the local market; high demand, limited supply.

Room Tip: Upper floors facing the rear are quieter.

I liked e hotel. The staff was friendly and the checkin was fast. Great restaurant with tasty food. Close proximity to Monument Valley (30min drive). Easy to find. Keep in mind that there are no alcoholic beverages on the reservation.

We stayed here for one night. Not many hotels to choose from and they take advantage of that. We paid twice what we has laid anywhere else on our 3 weeks trip and booked months in advance the following month October the prices drop to half. Unfriendly staff on reception
