I love the med. their seafood is always cooked to perfection. I would love them to revamp their presentation. it is forgiveable becuase their food is gret but a piece of fish with a spoonful of veggies does not impress the eyes. Their prices are above average, but so is their view!! Service is above average and the owner always makes a turn at the table to her if you are enjoying your meal. they have been around for years. Testament to a good reputation.

Thank Sune G

It was our last night after three weeks of travelling the Garden Route, the vacation we will never forget. Friendly and helpful people, delicious food and wines and breathtaking views.
We were flying back home to Europe from Port Elizabeth the next morning, that`s why we asked the Praxton Hotel, where we stayed, for a recommendation of a good seafood restaurant. They recommended "the Mediterranean" and reserved a table for us.
We were welcomed by friendly service-staff and were guided to a nicely decorated table with beach-view.
While being seated we noticed a black male and a white women sitting at another table not far from us, with laptops in front of them and both talking on their mobile-phones. Actually the male was shouting on the phone.

It was the first time the staff excused for this behaviour when they handed us the menu.

Now this male started to scream and swear ! This was going on for quite some time.

The staff then suggested that we should move to another room, obviously without beachview and the nice atmosphere. But since we were hungry, we accepted.

But even in the next-door room we could hear every word this male was screaming and swearing to whomever was on the other end of the phone. I have never experienced anything like this before, and we eat out a lot !
In the meantime the third staff-member had come to apologize, when I asked why they did not ask this man to leave the restaurant, who was disturbing all of the few guests.

We did not get a response to my question from the frightened staff, when my wife put two and two together and asked "this is not the owner, is it?" The three staff-menbers, who surrounded our table, immediately all nodded their heads for agreement.

We immediately got up and left this restaurant.
We would never support such behaviour with our money, no matter how good the food might have been !!

Unfortunately this was a very bad experience at our last day in SA after an otherwise wonderful vacation.

By the way, the staff called our hotel and left an apology for us again.

I have not been to the restaurant before....some friends joined up to celebrate a birthday. The scenery was lovely and the service was good. We chose this restaurant because the birthday person loves seafood and we had to accommodated their choice of food, but I am a meat person. Was I glad to see that they have a meat section, but what a disappointment the pork ribs were. The presentation was nice, but it was tough and flavorless. Ribs according to me should be cooked, marinated and then grilled....

We all came to order and the waitress said they had a problem with the gas and they couldn't cook certain meals which was almost half the menu!! Two of us had to go for something we didn't want or like. In fairness the seafood was excellent but the pasta was too garlicky and was inedible. We felt cheated at the fact that they hadn't told us that they couldn't cook some of the menu as we arrived they waited cor us to order drinks......disappointing

We had lunch in here, the snails were delicious and the fish of the day great. The service very attentive as was the wine recommendation. The view and the sunset complemented this meal
