We spent one night at Thunzi Bush Lodge. What a disappointment on the last day of our honeymoon. The cabin was OK - but we wouldn't give it a four star rating. We were "treated" to the "private boma dinner". The setting wasn't too bad, but unfortunately we cannot say the same about the food. It was terrible & the presentation even worse. We didn't stay to "enjoy" the "hearty South African breakfast". No wonder we were the only guests there!!

We have recently employed a new manager to correct previous issues that we have been experiencing in the past two months. He has extensive experience in the hotel/lodge industry and we have no doubt that Thunzi Bush Lodge will offer superb service and four star accommodation as usual.
We have hired a well known chef to re-design our menu and all cooks/kitchen staff have gone on training and refresher courses in order to get our food quality back up to international standards.
We thank all guests for reviews published and are happy to correct any faults in a timeously & professional manner.

We were met with lovely welcome drinks, very efficient lady explained everything. Beautiful venue and chalet. Everything you need in the chalet. We had our wedding anniversary and as a surprise for my husband I organised their special Boma dinner that adds R330 on to your dinner bill. Such care was taken in decorating our table outside, the fire was lit, our seating was stunning, the manager who served us throughout the evening was great. Then the starter arrived - excellent chicken livers, lovely homemade bread, but really only 1 slice (if that!) per person. Main meal - sticky(nice) quarter chicken with mash-potatoes and peas. So far it was fine. BUT THEN - the dessert, box instant chocolate pudding with, I don't know, something between custard or box instant caramel pudding. The chef only has to serve about 7 people (at the most). Even a lovely slice of Milk tart, maybe sago pudding with homemade apricot jam or even just good koeksisters on a plate would have been so much better.
They let themselves down with their food. Some fine dining menu will be fantastic.

Narina chalet was perfect for us, with two small kids we had an extremely relaxing time and enjoyed being catered for hand and foot! The lazy lizard pool was a big hit with the kids, some fishing and quad biking and we could have a very relaxing sleep in the afternoon. Betty's marmalade jam is the BEST I have ever tasted and the food and service was excellent. It was great being so close to P.E, because we could literally pack up and be home within 30 mins. We will definatly be visiting again!

Spent our first two nights as a married couple in Thunzi's Bush apartments. It truly was a perfect setting for a Honeymoon couple. The place was neat and clean and decorated with candles and rose-petals... Very romantic.
The highlight was the open-air meal at the boma.
Thunzi's exclusivity and privacy are what make it stand out from the rest. And it's picturesque surroundings are beautiful!

I don't think there is something that compares to it in the area.

Would go back anytime

Our stay at Thunzi was a magnificent, private getaway with all the luxuries one could wish for. The service was top notch and the food delicious! We were thrilled with our cabin which was so comfortable and spacious. All in all a wonderful experience!
