“Al fresco meal at Ginger”

Enjoyed a delightful Friday lunch on the patio at Ginger. Good food, good service and well chilled wine. One of those beautiful windless days in Port Elizabeth. Ginger is well worth a visit. Very attentive staff.

“Very slow service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014

We were very disappointed at the time it took to bring our meal. The restaurant itself is attractive and we had high hopes but we were left unattended even though there were not many people there at the time.

“Food excellent, when available :-)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014

Nice restaurant, great service. Unluckily most of the things we wanted to eat were not available - they probably keep only fresh food. Our second choices proved excellent though - the beef filet was really fantastic, cooked to perfection, as well as the prawns. Port Elizabeth is not an exciting destination, but this restaurant right in front of the ocean is definitely worth a visit.

“Fine dining at a great price!”

Ginger has a great relaxed vibe with comfortable couches out on their deck overlooking the beachfront. Great variety of cocktails. Excellent menu at very reasonable prices. Service is top notch.

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

This was our first visit here and it won't be our last.
The food was excellent but unfortunately the service could have been a little better.
Our waitress was knowledgable about the menu but little things were missed.
My husband ordered fish soup to start to be accompanied by a special melba toast, this was forgotten until we bought it to her attention half way through.
My son and I ordered three way carpaccio, warthog, crocodile and kudoo. It was delicious but we had to guess which one was which so would have been nice if it had been pointed out.
For main I ordered crumbed rack of lamb with extra seasonable vegetables. The lamb was cooked to perfection but I looked and it wasn't crumbed, the waitress noticed me looking and said sorry the chef didn't like the look of the crumb so left it off.Spoilt the dish slightly.
The seasonable vegetables which were extra comprised of a few over cooked green beans with a few carrots thrown in for colour.
We decided to have coffee outside for some fresh air as it was a lovely evening.Unfortunately Quinton the waiter outside for that evening decided to clear while we were sitting there, dragging chairs and passing us with huge cushions so was not as relaxing as we'd hoped.
However, the food was excellent and other than the incident outside was very relaxing and we will make time to return.
