This was our first visit here and it won't be our last.
The food was excellent but unfortunately the service could have been a little better.
Our waitress was knowledgable about the menu but little things were missed.
My husband ordered fish soup to start to be accompanied by a special melba toast, this was forgotten until we bought it to her attention half way through.
My son and I ordered three way carpaccio, warthog, crocodile and kudoo. It was delicious but we had to guess which one was which so would have been nice if it had been pointed out.
For main I ordered crumbed rack of lamb with extra seasonable vegetables. The lamb was cooked to perfection but I looked and it wasn't crumbed, the waitress noticed me looking and said sorry the chef didn't like the look of the crumb so left it off.Spoilt the dish slightly.
The seasonable vegetables which were extra comprised of a few over cooked green beans with a few carrots thrown in for colour.
We decided to have coffee outside for some fresh air as it was a lovely evening.Unfortunately Quinton the waiter outside for that evening decided to clear while we were sitting there, dragging chairs and passing us with huge cushions so was not as relaxing as we'd hoped.
However, the food was excellent and other than the incident outside was very relaxing and we will make time to return.

This restaurant is at Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth & is on the coast road. It adjoins the Beach Hotel & is next to the Casino Entertainment complex. It is an "up market" restaurant in a good position - I had a beef steak & it was excellent, however we decided to skip the starter ( too much at lunchtime) & it took nearly 1 hour for my steak to arrive since ordering & when we sat down at 6.45pm the restaurant was nearly empty. If it was not for the speed of service it would have scored higher.

One of the best restos in PE, we have been several times during our visits to SA .
Situated in the Beach Hotel on the main road overlooking the ocean.
Inside and patio seating.
Service is slick and knowledgeable , our server pointed out that they dd not serve endangered species of fish and guided us as to the best fresh fish on the menu.
On our last visit we enjoyed braised lamb shank, duck, kingklip and pumpkin fritters which are light and creamy inside, dusted with cinnamon sugar. There fries are thick cut and crisp on the outside and soft inside,
Wine selection is very good with by the glass options as well.
We have used this restaurant to celebrate birthdays and as a Sunday lunch dinner spot, always came away happy and satisfied.

We had a great meal at this restaurant when we stayed in PE during the latter part of February 2014. The food was great and the wine list upto scratch. The waiters were a little flighty - didn't wait to hear you complete a sentence - but the Maitre D was great - took great care over his guests.
Food was good - exceptional in parts and the ambience of the place very pleasant. We would gladly return there!

For the best duck and venison, served just as it should be, lovely and pink in the middle and succulent, go to Ginger at the Beach Front Hotel. I can recommend this restaurant for it's lovely laid back approach, friendly welcome and beautiful food. If you are dining at lunch or dinner time, this is one of the best in Port Elizabeth and not to missed.
